"Going from dark to blonde hair!"
Posted by usa31 2 March  at  14:50

Hi,

I did put a posting on here the other day that seems to have disappeared??

I have gone from dark to almost blonde. My hairdresser done a full head of highlights three times in a short space of time to lighten my hair but its still not as blond as I wanted it. I decided to change my hairdresser as my hair has now gone so dry. I went to Tony & Guy and they said they would not recommend putting anymore highlights through the length of the hair but they could do the roots as its new hair.

Has anyone else gone from very dark to light blonde? if so is your hair in good condition and what do you use!?

The other problem is I use straightners on my hair which does not help, can anyone recommend any good conditioners or moisturising products I can use on my hair?

Thank you
E

i know it seems almost impossibe to not straighten your hair but you can make ur hair straight without a straightner just on the days you dont really need to straighten it by doing the following

using quality shampoos and conditioner
i recomend a sukin conditioner its made in australia all its ingrediants are extracted from plants and it gives your hair a more healtheir and use a conditioner that is specially for damaged died blonde hair i use the sunsilk one

it would pay to go to a hair dresser to get hair restoritive spray it wil set you back about $20 you use it after you wash your hair you towel dry your hair lightly then spray wait 10 minuted then rinse thoughroughly making sure you part your hair in different places as you spray fro root to tip

wen ur using your hair dryer face it down on your hair by holding it above your head it will make your hair str8 also use another treseme spray the purple top you out it in before using the hair dryer and to make your tios appear less damaged the purple lable resoritive str8nong gel duz the truck

I know exactly where you are coming from my hair is naturally very dark brown almost black but it can be blonde. I had my hair highlighted several times by hairdressers until I got tired of being dissatisfied and waisting money. Make sure you condition your hair, don't wash it too much and buy a product that will moisturize and make your hair shiny. If you go a local Wal-Mart or Rite-Aid there's a hair color called "Super Blonde" you should get 2 boxes depending on your length and thickness. This will make your hair blonde but it may have some areas that are little redish so use the other box of color to dye it again a few days later without washing it. Then your hair will be light blonde if you want it darker you can dye it again now that its light blonde it will be easier to dye to any other color.

Sincerely, Danielle

Hiya

Are you the same lady that has had a BA? My hair was dark brown and i had Hi lights from hairdressers but they hardly put any in so i complained then they re did it but put lots in so i thought i might as well go blonde all over which i did i have long hair and also use straightners...! I am 34 and had blonde hair now for about 4 yrs. The condition is ok i use conditioner every time i wash it but once i have straightned it i leave it for about 3/4 days. I thought about going the other way blonde to brown as after my BA i dont want that stereo type blonde with big boobs 36E.

Hi Cheriee,

I am the same lady - I have been in a rut for so long that I decided to make a change! You are very lucky with the 36E, I think I might settle at a D/DD as its been four weeks so not sure how much swelling there is left!

I am booked in with Tony & Guy for 24/03/07 as I have a family get together that night and I am just going to have my roots done and then I might book in again around August/Sept to have it all done again as this should give me enough time to really condition it!

I have to wash my hair every two days as its gets to greasy if I leave it any longer, so I am straightning it more often, its such a dilemma!!

Thanks
E x
"Dark to blonde"

hey,

i have naturally quite dark hair and really wanted to go blonde a coupleof years ago. it took 3 attempts of blonde highlights to get it to the shade i wanted because my hairdresser didn't want to be drastic only for me to regret it! it did go to fairly light and bright blonde but it wasn't trashy looking coz he put 2 different colour highlights through. after a few months of having it re-done it did get quite dry but my hair is naturally very dry anyway, just don't think the blonde really helped. but if you use a good conditioner and maybe use a hair mask once a week it should be fine.

only thing is that now that i'm back to my natural dark colour the blonde keeps creeping through and making my hair look lighter so have to keep dying it just to get it to my natural colour! but it's definitely worth going blonde for a while if it suits you!

good luck, hope you get the colour you want!

Hi,

My natural dark blonde hair, and I went blonde too 5 years ago though. I've been doing my hair blonde at home for 5yrs now. As of a month ago I visited a salon to have my roots retouched, and they highlighted my roots but it wasn't the blonde that I wanted. They lightened them to a bright auburn color, and my previously already lightened hair is a golden blonde with some red tones in it. But when I went to the salon I have an inch an a half of new growth from me not bleaching or coloring my hair since last February of 2007. So, prior to going to the salon I haven't colored my hair in 8 months. I was giving my hair a break from bleaching and coloring but now I want to go back to keeping it blonde. The last home bleach product I used on my hair was, "Revlon Frost & Glow Blonding Kit." I've been using that product off and on for 5 years, and it really works well with my lightening my hair. They took it off the market 3 years ago though but a few companies still do manufacture it but you can't buy it at any local drugstores anymore. You can only buy it online or the internet. The place where I buy mine is at: www.eBay.com. They have a big store that manufacture's it on ebay that you can purchase it from for either $8 or $9 a kit. I think that is really a reasonable price like what they used to sell it in other stores like CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens, or Ulta. I used to buy my Revlon Frost & Glow Blonding Kit at Ulta. They used to sell it but not anymore. If you'd like to try out this product you would have to go ebay, and check it out from there.

Good luck! Let me know what the outcome is!
