Roaccutane
Hi
I also started having acne at a very young age. Generally, if you acne has started so young (like mine) I would assume that trying the basic supermarket cleansers will not work as they are for people with spots that pop up now & then.
The best thing to do is go to your doctor, because acne is a medical condition & as such, can be solved =] I would go quickly just in case your acne is a scarring type.
Depending on your acne, your GP will recommend either the pill, antibotics or, as a last resort - Roaccutane. I started this drug when I was 16 (I'm 17 now) & it is the drug that is intended to completely clear your acne & KEEP your skin clear. There are possible side effects which may sound relatively serious, however from my experience, I have only had some dry skin/lips which I can handle with lip balm & moisturizer !
Because my acne is relatively serious, once off this drug, my acne came back in a couple of months, however than I just went back on & it went away again. So I would definitely recommend this drug... however you should see a skin specialist/doctor & find out more about it!
Good luck!

Hi darling -
of course there are different causes for acne and different types of acne. i would however like to share with you that it's my belief that most cases are the simple result of our bodies not properly maintaining the right amounts of amino acids to process away impurities and for whatever reasons such as stress, malnourishment, etc.. In other words, you may simply not be getting enough protein. I had bad acne all though my teen years and even into my twenties until I discovered that if I ate high-quality proteins then my acne disappeared for a few days. So I eventually caught on: I now not only eat enough meat but I adapted my habits for consumption of mostly foul and seafood. That is - I avoid pork and beef for conscientious reasons. Now - specifically what to eat - you need to eat more beef, pork, or turkey. Chicken and seafood do not contain all the amino acids our bodies need. I mostly consume turkey for my protein needs nowadays.

Acne
Well, I have struggled w/it as well but as some have probably recommended proactiv (which I tried and had only temporary result) but i recommend something better. I dnt kno if you've been on acne.org website and seen/tried Daniel Kern's regimen. It works wonders. If you don't want to buy his products there are many recommendations to use instead. For example, instead of using his clenaser i use another one called Purpose (in the bar form-not liquid) and then aplly his BP lotion. So, I recommend it to you. Obviously I cannot guarantee you results because every skin type is different. Good luck!

Dont worry!!
R u female? if so ask your doctor for the contraceptive pill, i recommend dianette which cured me! I have had acne since i was 14 and it was moderate and scarred a little. i tried all the creams and antibiotics and they work a little bit and then you become resistant to them. The pill works straight away, balances out your hormones which causes increased oil production..leading to clogged pores and therefore acne. Your skin produces less oil and you dont get spots anymore and allows your skin to heal! it really does work and has changed my life! i was on dianette for 2 years and totally clear skin and now I am on marvelon which is a lower dose contraceptive which does the same thing. seriously try it, its the one thing that has worked for all my friends too! God bless you xxxxxxx

Some ideas
I got acne as an adult and found that a mild facewash (and if you wear makeup then pre-cleanse with a cleansing lotion then use the facewash) plus Differin (from doctor) as well as a light non-pore clogging moisturiser worked well to get rid of acne. Also once or twic e a week use an exfoliator for the face (with grains in it) and a mud mask. This makes your skin look much more calmer and smoother with time. Try and get a moisturiser with vitamin C and A in it to heal the skin

Try aloe vera
it's absolutely fantastic. Aloes penetrates very deeply into the skin, its regenerates, rehydrates and cures everything. Your skin will like it. I'm French and I have two teenagers (15 and 13) they use aloe gelly every day and they recommend it to their friends. The main quality of aloe vera is that it doesn't stick at all, is not greasy and has the same Ph as your skin. It's natural and it's better than antibiotics which are chemical elements into your body.

Tips for getting rid of acne
Hi there,
I've also suffered with acne for years on and off, since I was a teenager.
First of all go to the doctors. Generally, if your acne is quite bad then the lotions and potions you find in the shops are not going to do the trick. Ask your doctor about PanOxyl wash. This can be used on face or body and is alot stronger than clearasil, oxy etc.
Also, ask about going on antibiotics. They will give you either tetracycline or erythromycin. They can take up to 7 weeks to work but can be very affective.
I dont know how old you are but another effective treatment is to take he contraceptive pill called Dianette. This contains an ingredient which prevents spots.
My spots were at their worst when I was about 14. I went on a drug called roacatain but it nmade me very ill so I came off it. I also went on steroids for a couple weeks to dry my skin out which helped a little.
The thing that worked for me though was taking Dianette and erythromycin together. My skin totally cleared up.
I am currently using PanOxyl wash on my back as have had an outbreak (week before 21st what a bummer!)
For when your skin is not too bad I would recomend oxy pads for day to day use, and Elizabeth Arden foundation for covering them up (again dependent on age)
Best of luck, feel free to send me a private message to say how it all goes and let me know if you find any great cures yourself!
