Teeth whitening

Hi there
This is the first time I have posted in this forum, so a big hello.
Has anyone had laser teeth whitening done. I am not talking about the gum shield things, I am talking about a gel and light system being done in a beauty salon. It appeals to me due to it not being done in the dentist ( which I hate) and the price is about half what the dentist will charge. I spoke to someone and they said the result after 45 minutes was fantastic and the 24 hours later was even better.
So just checking if anyone has any experience of laser teeth whitening.
Thanks

Wy10 all the way....

I was really worried about getting my teeth whitened, I have been wanting it done for ages and then I heard about the wy10 treatment that Denise Van Outen and Girls Aloud use

I saved up, it was much chaeper than what I thought - from £295 and had the treatment done last month and Im really pleased with the results!!

It was pain free and I read it was better than Zoom.

Id recommend you have wy10....x

Hello Everyone,

I have seen a new blog thats just gone up and it seems to have lots of information about teeth whitening and the various techniques and products. They havea downloadable PDF document that explores the myths and truths around teeth whitening. It might be useful Also looks like the blog could do with some input, what do you think?

Teeth whitening

Hi Anne,
My wife had fantastic results with Dental White - so much so that it encouraged me to try it.
I found it gave excellent results even though my teeth were more stained to begin with.

I found it online at www.teeth-whitening4u.eu for just over 20 pounds. Thats a whole lot cheaper than a dentist!

i dont think that laser teeth whitening is so effective...i would suggest you to buy a natural teeth whitening products.

Teeth whitening

Hi Anne - I tried a number of different DIY whitening solutions - and I have to say there are lots out there, and some aren't as safe for your teeth as you would like (high % carbamide peroxide ).

I find Dental White effective but safe for my teeth also.

I don't have a whiter than white look, but my teeth are noticably whiter than they were before, and people comment on them frequently now.

I get my supply from www.teeth-whitening4u.eu at approx 24 pounds which will last you months

Good luck...!

Teeth whitening

I was interested in whitening my teeth, but found it difficult to find good information about all the different methods. Many websites talked about $300 treatments you get at the dentist being the best, while people in forums suggested you can get the same results using baking soda from the supermarket! So I was glad when I found this site that compares all he different methods' effectiveness AND their cost: http://the-dental-makeover.com/whiten-teeth-to-promote-confid ence/teeth-whitening-cost-indicatin g-effectiveness/

The new laser whiteing systems are very good in most cases and safe also.
If you shop around you can get it done fairly cheaply at many spa's including the one below!

Teeth whitening

Hi there,
Was just browsing through this site (looking for stomach fat-busting treatments actually!) when I saw your tooth whitening message. I had the laser tooth whitening a couple of months back at a beauty clinic and wish I hadn't bothered!
The treatment took 1 hour ( 3 lots of 20 mins with the laser on the teeth) and was not a pleasant experience...the girl was not very professional and did not warn about the possibility of pain-(of course not- they just want your money-). Afterwards my teeth were a little whiter but this was no consolation to the fact that my gums were almost black and felt like they had been partly dissolved! Also my teeth were very sensitive for a few weeks (look this up on other chat forums as it is a common occurence that the therapist fail to tell you about!) My gums are back to normal now but my teeth are still sometimes sensitive and not alot whiter.
I cannot comment on treatment at a dentist's surgery but I would not do this again and feel it was a comlete waste of time and money. I FOR ONE HAVE LEARNT MY LESSON!

Teeth whitening

Hi, I have just had teeth whitening by smile spa, I had it done in a hairdressers, it was on special offer for £199. They put a gel on your teeth and then put an ultra violet light on for 2 minutes, they repeat this proceedure 6 to 8 times. I have to be honest and tell you that I am really disapointed with it, my teeth do not look any whiter (I got my son to take a picture of them before I went) My gums were so sore for a week after the proceedure, they bled constantly and for the first 3 days I was in total agony trying to brush my teeth. The only difference I can see is that my teeth look dry, before they looked shiny. If I were you and if you really want your teeth doing, bite the bullet and go to a dentist it might be more expensive but Im sure you wouldnt have the problems I had. The only consolation I have is that this week the price is going up to £398 and I would have been so gutted to have paid that price for nothing but pain. The lady who did the treatment was really nice and said how happy people were and most teeth go 9 to 10 shades lighter, but I think this was the hard sell, they match your canine tooth up to these plastic teeth to show before and after, but I dont know about you but if you have ever checked your teeth against the pearl drops guide you can match practically every darker colour to your own! Just really think before you have this done!

Teeth whitening

I can safely say that I have had the teeth whitening that you are contemplating having and it was worth every penny. I had 20mins 4 times over the space of two weeks and my teeth have never seemed cleaner and whiter.
Go for it, it makes you proud to smile!

Teeth whitening

Hi there,

Since there are so many different types of teeth whitening out there i was just wondering where you got yours done. Was it the laser whitening you did and can you tell me anything more about the equipment or proceedure.

Thanks a million

Teeth whitening

I've just finished a course of teeth whitening...Afraid it was the gum thingys though, my dentist told me that the laser lights are not so good.My teeth are amazing after 2 weeks of nightly gumshields filled with the bleaching agent, the results are fabulous and long lasting, plus i have the gum shields and a syringe of bleach to use as and when i need a topup. The system is called "enlighten" or smile-x, and i can recommend it, I paid £250 which is a snip as some dentists charge about £800 - £1000 for the exact same treatment. It did make my teeth sensitive though which was a struggle but as soon as your 2 weeks is up it goes away, my dentist painted my teeth every day with de -sensitising solution which helps and i got swabs to use myself.
If you live near Pontefract he has 4 kits that he will do for £250 otherwise they will cost you three times that!!

Go to dentist

i also used to be a dental nurse, although it was about 7 years ago, so many brands out now. id strongly advise you to get it done at a dentist though, they are qualified, and you at least have peace of mind. dont know much about other plaes that do it, and not saying they arent capable, but i wouldn't like to find out!!!!
good luck

Zoom 2

Hi there,

i am an x Dental nurse and would reccommend Zoom 2 power whitening - They advertise as it will make your teeth 10 shades whiter -Its great combined with home kits but be prepared for touch up sessions every few years and also they will ask you to avoid red wine, tea, coffee, curry, berries pretty much everything that can stain your teeth! Oh and can make your teeth very sensitive.

Would highly reccommend tho I would personally prefer to have it done via a dentist, as they are trained professionals, and its not recommended if your teeth have cavity's or if you have fillings on the front surfaces of your teeth, as they will not change colour.

Good luck x

Laser teeth whitening

Hi Anne,
Ive just recently joined the forum too? Ive also recently sent info over toanother member who had a similar request as I do Laser Teeth Whitening and Semi Permanent makeup Clinics all over the UK? You do get fantastic results and for a fraction of the cost of the dentist, and its the same procedures that I use?

Wherever you go to have it done though, make sure that they are fully insured with 'malpractice insurance'. If you want any more info please send a message. Good luck? Molly

Sounds like clumsy advert to me

or am I just an old cynic?? ?

Teeth whitening

It's perfectly fine to have done in a Salon. The thing to watch is that the % of hydrogen peroxide used is 6% and not that of dental strength. We do it in our Salon with great results. It's the same system used by Dentists but lower % whitening gel. We had great training and know what to look for we insist you have visited your dentist in the last 6 months as well as carrying out a thorough consultation with the client.
