| Thread started by: | "Make up! make up/courses" Posted by usa31 21 March at 13:45
Hi,
I know you will all be based all around the UK but I live in Devon and have been trying to find a makeup/beauty course in Exeter for ages now and cant find one!
I only want it to be one night a week and can involve all different topics as long as it includes make up.
I feel like I have been living in peoples shadows for so long as I have never been very good at Make up and never plan what I wear the night before and Im fed up of looking at people and wishing I looked more like them! So its time to make a change and get my confidence back!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
E x

I think you can learn to make up trough internet. You can search or download DIY clip videos about how to learn to make up. I watched some of them and I think it work because people explain and demonstrate at the same time. Besides, if you don't understand, you can repeat it.
You can try on this website: http://www.omygarden.net/womentobeauty/makeup%20ti-ps.htm

hi, i live in devon too, not far from exeter anyway you could always go to a department store and they will do your make up for you, i love estee lauder, they will talk you through what they're doing and why. they have some lovely products, i mostly use their stuff, it can be expensive if you buy all the products but its worth it, you don't even have to buy anything once they've done it, it will give you a place to start from. x

Hi E you sound great, go for it! I found a FREE way of getting some good advice on clothes. Do you have Debenhams near-ish? In ours you can book a personal shopper . now i know that sounds mega scary , and ours did look like a man in drag!but it was fine. My sister had some birthday money to spend on clothes ( I didn't tell the shopper that)..so I booked a session for her , and the woman did all the buzzing around, and she tried on some interesting, and clever stuff. You can go in to try 1 special outfit, or for a change of wardrobe, or some casual stuff, and you can tell them not to show you anything too pricey!.THE BEST THING is there is NO PRESSURE they are not on commission or anything..they get paid anyway (what a fab job). As for makeup, you can do the same (not sure about the cost)at Boots, (you might have to sit in the middle of the shop tho!) I was thinking that this way you could chatto a make-up gil & ask her direct how she got into her job & how she got her qualifications? Huge encouraging hug H
