Dove vs the people

I have just seen a video on a beauty forum which is a montage of 2 adverts both made by the same company. 1 for Dove and one for Axe.
On one hand you have the 'Natural Beauty' line from dove and then mixed with that you have women being turned into sexual objects for an Axe commercial.

My issue with this is how can ONE company have 2 completely different stances on what beauty is? Am I being totally manipulated by a company who actually just wants my money?
I guess it's much like some scummy people out there tell you what you want to hear- make you feel good enough just to get you to part with your money and then you realise you've actually been used???
I'm so sick of being told that as a woman I should aspire to look like Lily Cole. NO THANK YOU! Grrrrrr.

were all being manipulated by companies that just want our money but i agree with you.axe maby they think there is a small market of woman who would think other wise?!
I myself try to aspire away from the likes of lily cole and try to aspire to the likes of charlotte church shes the one of the best role models that have been around in ages.
