"Burden of europe : the immigration"

This is one of many issues in the run for french presidency!
But is immigration really a burden : don't we need it? Europe has a very low fecondity rate, without immigration, could it survive?
The thing is we have our national identity and our values. If closing borders is not a solution, immigrants have to integrate our national identities, live up to our culture and speak our languages, they must know our history and respect our values.
OK for a selective immigration, for those who really want to be french, english, spanish and no to closed borders and discrimination BUT NO also to immigrants living in Europe and by their own way, as if they were in their late countries!
What is the solution, what do you think?

Immigration seems to be a problem all over at the minute but I sometimes ask myself whether it's the media making a bigger issue out of it than what it really is...

I quite agree with you Mathiine.! Any country european or not immigrate got the right to have his own identity and have it respected. So the immigration has introduced a new a very bad reality : people coming from others countries where they do not want to live anymore for evident reasons come into our own country and behave exactly as they want. They do not want to be integrated they want US to accept the way they want to behave. I have travelled a lot around the world and have worked in some countries where wemen were not at all considered I had to dress as they want me to be dressed : in their ways. No trousers, no jeans, ..... but the same women coming from thoses countries dress as they want and do not respect the way we as european women we want to be dressed. Excuse my english I am not english and the subject I am trying to develop makes me sort of emotive. I am myself french from italian origin. My grand parents had to respect the french ways when they came to France, they had to work hard to speak french and not italian they had to forget in town the italian ways and become quite french . Now I have the feeling that i am not leaving in France anymore but in a sort of new country mades of foreigners who have all rights to decide themselves the way they want to behave without considering our french ways. They are even arrogant if you dare to make on observation even polite. Arrogance and non observance of our ways. If they want to behave in their own ways, the ways of their original countries why do not they come back in their countries? You know why? Just because they are very much protected by our own laws. Sorry for my confused english but i hope you got the idea.!!!

It is a big debate in France. I don't know what we have to think. It is very difficult. I am from Belgium, and I live in France. I have difficulty in France, and I am european. I think, wen we have a job, ok, but I say, no, for someone who live with the appointment of France. Sorry, my english is not very nice, I hope your understand... bye
