Does christmas get more commercial every year?

To me, it seems that Christmas gets more and more money-making/commercial orientated every year... it oculd just be that I'm getting older though! What's everyone else's thoughts?

My children knew that times were tough the months ahead of xmas. I have three and they were all born in september. I was always honest with them as I think that is the best way. They are 4, 12 and 14. I will not forgett the disbelieve in my 14 year old sons eyes when he got a new ps2. We have worked hard for it...but that look was worth it! And he told me how overwhelmed he was! Don't underastermate our kids! (Sorry for spelling errors. I am not english)

i'd say here in France, It's so much of a race for shoppers trying to get something at anycost, too much business could make people forget about what matters most- the family spirit and sharing times of happiness

I thought like that too up until this year when I gave birth to my baby boy... all of a sudden the magic of Christmas has come flooding back to me!
