Quite an interesting discussion going on in Health & Wellbeing > Mental Health about this as it has been in the media recently... What does everyone think? I read that a campaign has just started in France to get teenagers to stop smoking is this true? how on earth are they expecting it to work?!

... a look on this other thread... i don't exactly know, what british media's opinion was (i'm german, an worse: got no tv ), but it is obvious that mental problems can be inforces by *all* drugs, even cannabis.
i've been smoking since i was 16, most of the time a joint in 4 weeks, for 2 years it was *much* more and every day - wasn't good for my social life, no doubt -, in the last 6 months i've had - let's say 6 puffs, seemed to be enough. my mental constitution is not worse than it was 15 years ago, quite the reverse (but that has nothing to do with smoking ).
my opinion is that of course cannabis is dangerous for people which are mentally ill. if the illness is known yet or not (the ladder is the point...). but that is not specific for cannabis and i'm afraid that media in britain might have forgotten that like they prefer to do in germany.

especially now it has been downgraded. The police are going to have a hard time rounded up all the smokers toking away in their bedrooms.

I don't think they're really after gangs of teenagers smoking in their rooms after their parents have gone to bed. It's the people who sell to them that the law is after, and the people who sell to them.

... I make it short but I really do agree with your opinion on the matter. It will be hard to reach the point but at least there will be a beginning of something.
