I voted yes (I have dual nationality)but I know the people voted no for all the wrong reasons. They voted against the government, not the European constitution. Now that Holland has voted no too I hope it shall unite all the European countries into talks for them to see what went wrong and what must they change in the constitution.

Hi sintijap
I know, I'm laughing at the politicians right now, they didn't seem to be expecting it,did they?! An now the Dutch have said no too, I don't think it can really go ahead. In my opinion, it was one step too far, what do you think? countries need tor etain a certain amount of independence.

Hello, missmachin
ha ha... and the dutch said 'no'! it's becoming more and more funny to me... personally I think, that the problems had to be solved a bit differently- they should have left us (the 10 new member countries) a bit aside, so that we can equal our social, political and material levels, and only then try to do it among all the countries... what do you think? and it's only natural that people from here are going away on work to western europe, coz things are getting more dull than they were over here... Gosh, never thought I was so interested in politics.. ha ha ha

Hi sintijap
I agree that the constitution is a bad idea, you can't possibley have the same set of rules for all those countries, they are all so different! Especially the new countries, you're right to say they need to improve their standards in certain areas before committing to something like that, but I wonder if maybe it should have been a criteria for entry in the first place? Have you had any experience of people moving out to the East from Western Europe yet? In England apparently more and more people are buying property in new EU countries because it's so cheap! Looks like it works both ways!

Hey, daisy260
Yes, i know a few people from Denmark who are buying more and more properties here just to sell them later at a higher price... i don't blame neither those going to west, nor those coming to east... but the situation here is really bad! while these properties are "so cheap" for you as you said, only few can afford to to flats with 1 room here! It's all the matter of Eu as well I think! coz since we joined it, prices have been going up in a terrible speed, while the salaries are only being reduced... I suppose it definitely doesnt work here by the way, i remember that a few years ago a foreteller predicted that the EU would collapse in some time... What do you think?

Hi
I think they did the right thiong, I'm really pleased. I think it is dangerous to give up too much power to the EU, every country needs to retain it's independence. Another point, is that you can't possibley have the same rules for all countries - take the idea of a minimum wage. If you set it at a level that the 10 new members can afford, it will be well below the minimum wage and probably even poverty threshold of richer countries like France and the UK, which just won't work. I think it's very badly thought-out.
By the way, did you use a machine trnaslation programme for your question? Am guessing you mean: "The French have said 'no' to the European Constitution, what do you think?
 So what do you think.!
