In the uk

It's pushing a pound, which is absolutely ridiculous. Although this time, I don't think it's Blair's fault, the price of oil has gone up in the Opec countries, thanks to the actions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Also

Not only is the oil price high here because of Iraq/Afghanistan situations, but with Hurricane Katrina, it wiped out many of OPEC's oil pumps, so we have a shortage here in the USA. Not sure if it's affecting anything outside of our country though.

Knock-on effect

It will probably have a knock-on effect all over the world. I think we will all have some serious consequences from Hurricane Katrina.

In america

It is $2.81 to over $3.00 per gallon here, which is quite high for us.
