The traditional route is A-Levels, then your degree in Law (three years) then LPC (one year) then you need to get a law firm to take you on a training contract for two years whereby after that you qualify as a solicitor.

However training contracts are extremely few and far between and many law firms are preferring to hire paralegals rather than trainee solicitors.

I would recommend you look at studying to become a Legal Executive instead. Although the route to qualification is much longer eventually Legal Executives can qualify as solicitors.

Local colleges/ Further Education colleges should advise you.

when i first said I wanted to go into Psychology at 16, the teachers laughed... i wasnt expected to gain good grades and they told me places were scarce...

they were pretty scarce at the time.. and psychology was no where near as popular as it is now..

but i ignored them, i didnt think there was anything else i wanted to do....... and i got into university...

u go girl,,,, aim for the sky - the sky wont come down to meet us!

"What i think about becoming a lawyer"

I think it's a really nice idea. I also wanted to become a lawyer, when I was younger. But later on I changed my mind, since I got into the acting things.

"Good for you!"

I have lawyer friends and it's a very rewarding career. You will ahve to work really hard, but I think it will be worth it. Believe in yourself and you will get there
