Hello,

Your written English is very good!!! Yes you are right, London is really expensive.
If your looking for a summer job in England it probably would be a good idea to work beside the sea. How about Blackpool or Southport? Blackpool has lots of attractions and amusements, its a great town to be in. It has good nightlife. However it is becomming less and less popular each year as people tend to go abroad for their holidays. Southport is great, I Love it! It is very clean and the people there are so nice and friendly, you would really enjoy it, there is some arcades and an amusement park, it is probably not as big as Blackpool but I would think that it is a lot safer, many shops as well. It has an amazing atmosphere. Manchester is a good option as well, there are lots of people with different backgrounds and cultures. It is a big city, big enough for you to get lost in if you dont know your way around but it can be exciting too. there is lots of things to do over there and there is always jobs available. It has a better nightlife than Blackpool, but it is a bit ruff, meaning watch yourself. There are lots of oppertunities for your things to go 'missing'. its not all bad though.

hope this information is enough for you. safe travelling,
Louise xxx.

Hi!!

I am Spanish and I will go to work this summer to England. I would like go to London but it is too expensive ( I am student, I only want to improve my spoken English ) so I have thought go to Manchester, but perhaps a seaside town could be better to get a summer job (as Bristol, Southampton or Brighton). What do you think?

Please, advise me as much as possible.

Thank you very much!!!

"A place to live in!"

Of course I am older than you but I do remember that years and years ago..... i had to go to London for many months for my master. I found a very practical way for living and spend little : it was a so called boarding house place. I had a very nice room, I was kept for breakfasts but I had to work some hours a week in compensation. I do not know if that sort of system agrees to you but it could be practical if you manage with the timing they propose. I have a very nice souvenir of this period.! The place was located in SW.1. So not very far away from the center. Well I hope that can give you an idea. All the best friend!. By the way : I am french....

Come to Stratford upon Avon where there are lots of hotels and restaurants!! Seriously though, seaside resorts will have lots of opportunities for summer work but so will most big cities.

You'll have a great time, I'm sure there will be loads of work for foreign students and it's full of young people. Bristol is more of a port. Manchester is a really good laugh, but during the summer I'd go for Brighton every time!
hope that helps!
