You could look at your electricity meter (hopefully you have one) and read the dial with the figures. Then look at the bill and see if they quote a figure for the electric you have used. If there is a big difference in the reading and what they put on the bill, you need to contact the company urgently as you may be running up a bill!

My boyfriend has gone mad about our leccy bill as it is only 49p. He says that in 6 months time we're going to get a whaking horror of a bill when they read the meter.
Should we ring up the company, or just keep paying what they ask for and hope for the best...

Think I might agree with your boyfriend there, best to just phone and ask as there may be a problem with your meter or something and you might end up paying for more!
