Apart from bottle banks, does anyone know if the council is meant to provide any other recycling facilities?
It seems to be harder and harder to lead a 'green' life - in germany they have been sorting their rubbish for recycling for years, why not here?!
Have nice days

At least in large cities, we have 3 garbage cans. One is for glass ( picked up once a week ), one for plastic and paper ( picked up twice a week ) and one for everything else ( picked up twice a week ) If you have chemicals ( like paint, cleaning fluids, etc )you can take them to a special bank, once a month. And used batteries can be deposited in special containers in stores and many public places.
It seems to work fairly well. I hear it is just the beginning, they are planning to refine the sorting out, once people have learnt their lesson.

being green at grass roots is so simple, but it has such a big impact. I wish the governmet would sort out a similar scheme to Germany too, surely it wouldn't be hard?
I wonder how it would go down with the public?
We're the public and we want it!
