Ccj's and mortgages

Hiya
Does anyone know - my husband has a couple of CCJ's and i desperatley want to get a mortgage and buy our own house as im fed up with renting and lining someone elses pockets.
I can get a mortgage on my own but enough to buy a property. Ive heard from a couple of people that you can pay to have them removed early, does anyone know if this is possible and how you go about it?

CCJ's dont automatically mean you cant get a mortgage. I remortgaged my house two years ago and had a few ccjs but still managed to get a mortgage. I used a financial advisor though, as like you I was wary of the information other people had given me. You do have to be very honest with them though and I was pleased I told him all my past credit problems. He managed to get me a mortgage with Abbey National and NO it wasnt a high interest or poor credit one either. Very pleased with the outcome. I am not advising you to go through a financial advisor but it can make for an easier life. CCJ's stay on your credit file for 6 years and you cant pay to have them removed before they expire. Mortage providers are more interested in your circumstances now but do want to know how long ago the ccjs have been on file for and the amounts involved... Good Luck
