Advice on structural survey when buying house

Just been told have had offer accepted on a property. We would like full structural survey done - do we contact a surveyor direct to arrange this?

Also is there any need to worry if the previous owner's purchase does not show up on land registry property prices site (the one where you can see when property was last sold and for how much)?

It all seems to different since last bought property about 6 yrs ago (I didn't have full survey done then).

Any advice would be good.
