My flat mate does my head in!!

I have had enough I really have. Have you ever felt in such a way that you really dont want to go home as you know you will have to ne in the same place as someone who really winds you up.

This girl I have known all my life really and the past couple of years she has changed and not for the better, basically she has a bad attitude. I recently split up with my boyfriend so basically I have been living back at the flat all the time now whereas before I was spending all my time at his flat.

Things were fine, she helped me through the break up which I am grateful for. Anyway, a couple of months later we went out for my birthday with a couple of other girlfriends. All night I didnt feel comfortable around her as I could tell she wasnt being herself and I always feel that if anyone is going to bad mouth me behind my back then it will be her. Anyway half way through the night she wouldnt speak to me, basically acting like some spoilt child or something and then I asked a couple of my friends what was wrong as I had no idea and they said it was because I mentioned the spots on her chin. She suffers from the odd zit like the rest of us but I know sometimes at home she mentions them so I say stop playing with them then and make them worse but thats about it, I would never think anymore of this and start saying about them while we are on a girls night out!! So that wound me up as she was basically saying that I said things about her which I didnt. So she stormed off home and wouldnt answer my texts and busy toned me so I thought sod it I'm not letting this ruin my night out with my friends.

Eventually after a couple of weeks we started talking as friends again and having a laugh but I didnt give in straight away as normally when she acts like such a child I am the first to speak to her but this time I didnt do that, I just made her make the first move as it was.

This weekend just gone, she had this guy back to the flat. I was just nodding off to sleep at 1 am on a Saturday morning to be awoken with him drunk outside waiting to be let in the flat by my flat mate. They were talking in her bedroom all night and I could hear that tone of them speaking which was keeping me awake. Then he text me from her room asking if I wanted a threesome so I told him to get lost basically, then I could hear her groans as he was obviously pleasuring her. I had to take a sleeping tablet in the end to get myself to sleep and I didnt nod off until after 3 am.

She knows I am p'ed off about this but we havent spoken about it at all. There is just this bad vibe in the flat and I really cant be bothered to even sit in the same room as her at the moment and I have really lost any respect I had for her. I need to find new friends and get on with my new lease of life and be happy and not have her drag me down and depress me. I would move out but this flat is my home so dont want to move out but maybe thats my only option.

Any advice as I dont know what to do? I'm 33 and she's 32 so its not like we are kids. I dont need this from friends I really dont.

Move out

Sounds like a horrid situation, but you need to concentrate on making things better, not with her,,,for you! Even if you don't actually go through with it, have a look around at your other options, concentrate on the opportunity this might be leading you towards. You might find somewhere much better a new start and you can cut your losses. If you don't find anything better, stay, don't have what you need "new friends get on with life" be unhappy and she'dve won!
Home is where you are happy and feel secure...where you are isn't home anymore....go get an adventure or two!
