Husband versus wife night out

OK, i just need a third person's opinion on this one...

situation: one goes out after work for drinks and say at around 7pm says they will only have one drink or will stay only a short while...shall we say this is a max of 2 hours commitment?..anyhow, after they've told us that, we don't hear from them for 4-5 hours, not even receiving a text saying 'ok, am having another drink' or 'ok, i will stay a bit later than i'd thought and will catch the last tube home'...

now, am I being to pushy here? or is sending a text (normally included in their mobile phone contracts therefore wouldn't cost a penny) a normal, grown up person's thing to do?

any opinions on this?

Sorry

I've just realised that you are the husband not the wife......typical of me for not reading things properly first, but obviously my reply is kind of relevant. xx

Pushy??

Hi, I know exactly where you're coming from. My other half goes out from work and does exactly the same......"just finish this drink and I'll be home"....."ok" says I and 4 hours later in he staggers. I just sit there looking at him wondering why I'm wasting my life with this, this smelly drunken bum....

I don't think it's much to ask and you're certainly not being pushy just asking for a simple text, but I do think that they DON'T THINK about anything but themselves while they're out.

I've phoned him before and I know that he's just cut me off, so I don't phone again. I've had this for years and I'm just about at the end of my tether. I just feel like I've wasted my life with him. I do still love him but am not sure if I'm in love with him......

Hope my opinion helps abit. xx
