Advice please - how do you know if it's for life?

I've got a question which may seem silly! I've been with my boyfriend for three and a half years, we have bought a house together and he already has two children from his previous relationship. We had an argument the other day which resulted in me asking him if he sees himself spending his life with me and if he wants to, to which he replied. I don't know!! This was not the heat of the moment reply as he has said it before.
Now I'm wondering am I making too much of this because you never know what may happen and in fact we are both divorced. But after 3 years surely you know if you want to and if you've met "the one"??

Sorry for the length of the message but just would like some impartial advice!!

No its not a silly question

oh hiya if my man/partner were buying a house with me and we had been together for 3half yrs i should dame well hope that he could see a future with me i mean ,come on people do this to kind of confirm that there serious and well how could your boyfriend do this and then say(I DONT KNOW)plz that is so unfair to you cause it would obviously leave you thinking what am i doing with you then,if i were your friend or if i were you,i would do a home test,my best idea( write down on a piece of paper all the reasons why you should be together and all the reasons why you shouldnt? and see which one makes more sence, cause you ARE worth it and remember you do have feelings?takecare hun, love cuteclairexxxxxxxxx

Hi

Hi L,

You could take his answer two ways! he was probaly angry when he said it as you were arguing, however you also say he said it once before! was that while arguing?

He may of said it to hurt you, as we say things in the heat of the moment. Has you been feeling alone, unloved by him?

I dont think there is no time limit on knowing someone. I was once married for 15 years and I realised later I did not know him at all.
