Boyf says that i have nothing meaningful or fulfilling in mylife say what?

I live my partner 8 years my senior, he used to complain alot that he had no hobbies or anything to past the time, so as a xmas gift 2007 i joined him up to a local paintballing team... which he loved and snowballed his free time in to making guns, playing games, chatting on the internet about guns etc etc.. which i was happy about because of course i want his life to be happy and fulfilled with something he enjoys. so the other night we sat at home, him on his laptop (all he seems to do when at home now if not making his own guns or at games) and as i joke i said 'let me guess, chatting about guns?' then laughed, he scornfully replied 'just cause you dont have something meaningful and fulfilling in your life to fill your time.' which i thought was a bit mean, do you think i took this the wrong way or do you think he was trying to be a little hurtful? to be honest it has slightly depressed me since that he thinks of me as nothing in my life.

i don't think you over re-acted i don't think when you made the comment to him you intended it to be mean, but you obviously know what he enjoys and after all if it wasn't for you he wouldn't know that he even enjoyed these things. But maybe he is right maybe you should try to find something that you can enjoy. so that the next time you make a comment to him about his interest he won't have anything mean and nasty to say.
