Help, advice, support boyfriend works for my parents

Hey. My boyfriend and i have been together for 6 months now and when we 1st got together he lost his job so my parents offered him a job . . . At the time it seemed a good idea but there is too much pressure on him and me as if we go and see my parents they cant keep work and private life seperate. My step dad who my bf works for swears at him, runs him down to everybody only to do with work issues. My bf has had enough of it and we talked about him leaving and getting another job, which he has. But when he handed his notice into my mum and step dad it didnt go down very well. They are now saying stuff to my bf which they told him i have said about him which is not true. My bf doesnt know ??? anymore and his head is all over the place. I dont want to loose him over this and have told him that i have never lied to him, love, care and worry bout him and want us both to work through this, but he doesnt want to e envloved with my parents "sick games". . . . All i want to do is cry all the time as i cant bear the thought of loosing him. My friend says he just needs time to sort his head out. Help??????? x

Difficult for you both.

You need to confront your parents about the things they are saying to your bf. Bit intrigued as to how they are able to reach him without you being there if he no longer works for them so maybe cutting access to him would help.
Then make sure that every time they are alone with him you are there too so you can challenge the things they say.

It could be that things you are saying innocently they are manipulating to suit themselves. I once knew someone who would say all sorts about someone they disliked and the other person just said mm. This mm got translated as full agreement of what was said and then it weent as far as them actually saying the words themselves. They were simply trying to keep things calm by saying mm.

Be careful of the things you are apparently agreeing with when you may actually not be. Such things can get twisted.

When you have challenged your parents over the things they have said which aren't true you can tell your boyfriend what you have done. Sticking up for him may help him feel a bit better.

When things start wrecking a guy's head all he will want to do is get away from it to get a bit of peace. So he may well distance himself from you if all that is spoken of is this problem.

Try to make your time together fun and talk of other things.
