Toddler food

Hi, i fed my children lots of veg and mash potato, spaghetti was also a favourite as was beans and sausage, the tinned stuff!.
Raw carrots are good for your child to bite on.
Also please don't blend everything!!!! Your child will never learn to chew!!!!

Baby food

One of my son's favourites when he was first weaning was a medley of root vegetables - cook equal quantities of potato, carrot, swede and parsnip, then mash with a knob of butter and a splash of milk - I used breast when he was really tiny, then full-fat cow's as he got bigger.

Also, red lentils cooked in homemade saltless chicken stock with diced onion and carrot, then pureed with a little grated cheese went down very well (and still does, in its unpureed state, at the grand old age of 1)

Home made food !

(In case you are wondering, this post was deleted twice, hence the testing ).
I agree that babies should be fed puréed veg, but be sure to add little pieces of vegetables as he grows older, if you don't catch him before it is too late, he will turn down anything that calls for chewing. You can make your own purées ( so much better than the ones you can buy ready made ! For one thing, the taste of home ccoking isn't standardized, it varies from one day to the other, and you want baby to become a gourmet, don't you ?
You can make your own puree and freeze it.Iit is a good idea to use an ice cube tray, so you can remove one cube at a time
You can also give him eggs, fish, meat, fish, in small quantities, depending on his age. Starches and legumes are all right too. Introduce one element at a time, so if the baby is sick, you will know what disagreed.
If he doesn't seem to like something, don't get discouraged, try nexy month !

Great idea

the ice cube tray is a great idea, it's really hard to freeze in kiddy-sized portions.

Pureed veg

really good for them and the right consistency for their little mouths!
