Mixed spices

can anyone help me please. I need to get hold of WHOLE mixed spice NOT ground mixed spice, It is for a chutney recipe that my Mum passed down to me . Have they stopped doing it now,?

Whole spices

Hi Yvonne,
You can get whole garam masala from Asian supermarkets or corner shops. It contains cassia bark, corriander, cumin, black pepper, bay leaf, cloves (that's all I can remember off the top of my head). Is that what you want?
Or was it a sweeter version that you are after? You can mix up your own. I make my own using corriander seeds, a few cloves (not too many - they're strong), allspice, mace, nutmeg.

Many thanks for your info I will have to go to the nearest Asian market and have a look, If they don't have what I want i will have to do as you have suggested and make my own up. My grandchildren want to try my mums chutney, so have to try and make it.
