Beginning the rhinoplasty route!

Hey, I've just turned 18 and for the previous 3 years have desperately wanted nose reshaping. I've just begun sending off for brochures etc and I want a good job done regardless of price. I've contacted MYA, THE HARLEY MEDICAL GROUP AND THE ... Does anyone know of any other good ones? I'm starting to organise consultations and am very nervous, especially about the outcome. If anyone has any good advice at all about the precedure please comment!

Hi sweetheart

where are you from? I would go to a private surgeon not a big group. It is more personal and at the end of the day it matters to them that your happy with the end results x x KJC

Go for it!

I can recommend Caroline Mills!!!!!!

I had my nose done in Dec 07 and cannot tell you how fantastic she is!! I am extremely please with the results!!!!
Go for it!

Here are her a few details of her qualifications and background...

Consultations are usually free and speaking to as many people and surgeons is not a bad thing! Do your research and go with your gut! I knew when I met Caroline she was the one! I had met other surgeons and wasn't so confident!!

Good luck!

Nhs ?

Hi,
I had my rhinoplasty on the NHS, but I did have a deviating septum. Have you explored the NHS avenue ?

Might be worth speaking to your GP he/she may be able to recommend someone even if you do end up going private.

Don't do this surgery lightly it is major op and has a long recovery period, it took me 18months to get back to normal (had some numbness and sensitivity issues).

Good luck.

Hhiii

im researching into mine for a bit now....the best advise would to not go for one of these 'big' companies.their surgeons tend to do many other areas of surgery.i have found an nhs ear and nose consultant that just specialises on cosmetic nose jobs privately.so all he does it the nose!what area do you live in?hes in manchester/x

Be careful

Hi

Rhinoplasty is one of the most difficult cosmetic ops and has a high revision rate. This is because there is a lot of specialism required, and it's on your face; if it goes wrong, it's not easy to hide

I went with one of the 'High Street Clinics', and they botched my nose. Please read my past thread http://forum.sofeminine.co.uk/forum/F52/__f6981_r40826_F52-My-life-cha nging-rhinoplasty-experience-p lease-read-if-you-considering- rhinoplasty.html

The surgeons at these clinics do not specialise in rhinoplasty so you need to find a surgeon that does. I know the clinic surgeons are more affordable, but as I have learnt the hard way, it is not worth the risk to scrimp when it comes to your face. I paid £4k for a primary, which I though was great - I then had to pay £7k for a revision 12 months later. I wish I had waited and saved up, then I wouldn't be £11k out of pocket plus 12 months of depression and even now, though my nose is fixed, things just aren't the same.

There is a great site called lookyourbestuk.com, which has a brilliant rhino forum, please visit it and use it to do your research, and please have a read of the experiences on there, it will prove to be invaluable

Hi, thanks for your imput...it was very useful.

I would liike to know which high street clinic you used. The clinics have given me an average price of 4500-5500 pounds. Which specialised clinics do you know of? Any extra help with this would help.

..

Transform, but I know many people that have also had their noses seriously botched by ... and HMG

The surgeons at any of these clinics are not specialists which is where the problem lies.
