Anyone had a facelift and what doctor did u have?

hello ladies,

I am 42 and have been thinking of haveing a facelift! i have jowels, and a bit of saggy skin under my chin, my face always looks sad, so have been thinking of undergoing a facelift,
Can anyone tell me if they have had one and what surgeon they can reccommend,
How much time off i will need from work and what sort of swelling and bruising i will have,
I dont really want to tell my family, so am wondering how long i will be able to hide from them if u know what i mean lol
I appreciate any advice from your good selves,

I had breast implants 2yrs ago now and this site was a godsend to me,

Thanx.

This is a very big operation and one that you really need to do some research of for, the best thing i can advise is go to www.allaboutsurgery.co.uk and have a cosmetic online consult and learn about all aspects of cosmetic surgery (including the facelift) and then view the price comparison so you have all the local and national prices for this surgery and get them to put you in contact with someone, then you can have as many consults as you like and the person you feel most confident with and your heart is telling you to go with - subject to their qualifications and registrations, pick them...good luck

Face lift

I had a F/L in P{rague, It cost about £4,500 . I had SMAS and an endoscopically assisted neck lift. I am 54. Results at 8 months pretty good, no jowels no baggy neck.
At 5 months P.O. i was still puffy faced and looked about 25 which was fab.
It has all settled down now and I would say I look in late 30s early forties max. but neck still young looking and no jowels. The only downside to my surgery was horrible scarring. I have pale delicate skin and tendancy to ruddiness with sun damage. I think thats why my scarring, around ears and along hairline is so bad. I am returning to Prague in a few weeks for revision to a bad "pleat" in front of my r. ear.
Also I have a nasty bald patch in the temple region where the hair failed to grow back after surgery. I think the right side of my face has slackened too, as there seems to be more skin on that side than the left.
There are many downsides to having a facelift, I think primarily you need to read lots of other peoples experiences and facelift diaries. That will give you a good idea of what to expect. Puffyness, odd pains, numbness, sitting upright to sleep, black bruises that fade to purple, and yellow, asymmetries etc etc. All this is just par for the course with even a good surgeon, as mine is, but plastic surgery is an art as well as a science.
Try the makemeheal website its very informative.

What about something less painful ?

If you are going for surgery, it will probably be at least a month before you can see your family, depending on how much work you have done. There is bruising and the stitches.

A cheaper and less painful solution could be facial exercises. These will really improve your looks in a subtle way, gradually lifting and improving the skin and muscle tone. Within the month you will notice friends and family looking sideways at you, wondering what is your secret and why you are looking great.
One of best ones around is Facialwizard, it has a lot of different things to it and it is really cheap.

Best of luck.

Maybe ask on the lookyourbestuk forum - there's more facelift posters there.
