Rhinoplasty op 19th nov

hi all im due to have my operation on the 19th feeling bit nervous also what the people in work might think. bit worried abt what il say if someone says to me abt it. any advice would be great. o yea and how long will my face be bruised for and will i notice a difference after splint comes off. im from northern ireland anyone out there had surgerydone here b4??xx

Hi I am one week post op today and from N Ireland too!! I had my op last Tues and am gettin the splint off on Thurs. It's been a good experience so far and not as painful as I thought it was gonna be. Sure it's sore those first few hours after surgery but it's manageable pain that will subside with good painkillers. Don't worry bout wot other people say..I have been out and about to the shop etc the past few days and have had loads a people(strangers!) comment like oh what happened etc..I just said I broke my nose so had to get it fixed. I told all my friends and family the truth obv cos I am just so happy that I finally had the nerve to get it done that I don't really care what any one else thinks!! Hope ur op goes well!! Hi I had rhinoplasty exactly 1 week ago, cast is due off tomorrow but my journey so far was:

Day 1 after the op - some minor nose bleeds, very little bruising but lots of swelling, Started using ice packs that night
Day 2 and 3 - continued using ice packs and bruising came out on both cheek bones but didn't spread to the eye area. It was at its worse on day 3.
Day 4 - massive improvement on the bruising its gone down loads in the last 24 hours. The tip of my nose which is the only bit I can see is still very swollen and feels solid.
Day 5 - swelling of the tip is starting to reduce
Day 6 - Swelling of the tip is still going down and there is now some movement and the cast is starting to feel slacker. The bruising and reduced to just one patch the size of a 1p on my cheek.
Day 7 - today, bruising easily covered by makeup, tip swelling still going down although I expect its going to take quite a while for that to return to normal although I don't think anyone but me would notice it was swollen.

Tomorrow is cast off day and I'll finally get to see the overall look. I am due to return to work this week so like you am hoping people won't notice anything. I'll let you know how I get on.

I had my op 2weeks aga and bruising showd up on day 5 the size of a 2p piece on my left cheek under eye,covered by plaster mind you. 10days when I had splint taken off its hardly visable and gone 3 days later. Bruising, swelling, numbness will vary person to person. You cant predict the outcome. What are you having done? and who is your surgeon? When my splint came off you couldnt even see any swelling. Only 2 dents where the splint was but they went within a minute.
