Induced menopause for pmt

Hi all, looking for some info.after years of severe pmt it has been decided that I should consider having menopause induced by injection each month to stop my periods and also start on hrt.Has anybody got any knowledge of this treatment and does it help.I am only 33 and although unable to have more children due to hubbys vasectomy I feel a little sad to say a full goodbye to my potential. They say they will do it for six months and see if i will consider a hysterectomy after feeling the relief.
I do suffer quite extreme with only one week a month without swelling pain, emotional highs and lows,I also have a daughter with autism and the added strain of pmt I am on anti depressants.I guess i am scared because a tablet you can stop taking if there is adverse effects but injections are not so controlable.Any info would really help it seems qutie drastic and I cant help feeling a little sad.with thanks

Hope this helps

hey!

i know you did this post back in jan so you may have already made your desicion- but i am 23 and i have just finished a course of these injections!! trust me they help! i was in so much pain before and now they have really help i have been off them nearly two months and although there has been a very small increase in pain- it is fantastic i dont have to tailor my live around pain any more! if you have the oppurnity it's worth it- plus i have been told i can still have kids or this treatment would not have been an option to me being so young.

Re: estrogen blockers

Just saw your message and wondered how you got on and what they prescribed you as im waiting for the estrogen blockers by 28 day injections for mths with HRT. Bit concerned. This is to treat PMT.
