Would you consider a Canadian participant? Also, when was this posted? I could be responding to something from 2006 -- it's not clear...
"What is wrong with me?"

Please tell me you can help or know someone who could help me.
I suffer from something I cant put a name to and that people just dont understand. It effects me every minute of every day but sounds so minimal when I tell people what problem I have. I am very squeamish, to the point of someone talking to someone else about an accident, to someone getting a nose bleed in the same room as me, I will faint on the spot unless I get out of ear shot or sight within a couple of minutes. This has now progressed to panic attracts and IBS from my fear of what I may overhear. I am now scared to go the hair dressers or nail parlours as strangers only a few feet from me may talk to their friends or beauty therapist about accidents and I have to ask them to stop talking or I have fainted in the chair terrifying the person who is dealing with me. I have passed out in the cinema (cert 12 film how embarrassing), opticians (reflection of my eye in the opticians apparatus), dentist (fillings, removal of teeth when younger), hairdressers (person next to me relaying accident), restaurant (again person on next table relaying an accident) and while visiting people in hospital (I just panic walking into the place). I have now started panicking when flying especially when you are not allowed to go to the toilet just before take off and landing. I worry constantly the person in front, behind or beside me may be ill, or start talking about something I cant handle. I have even had to consider what jobs my problem prevents me from doing as I panic having to attend heath and safety meetings and couldnt consider having to learn first aid. I thought at school as soon as I didnt have to do Biology lessons anymore I would be away from things that would make me pass out. How wrong I was.

With the constant worry of my body listening out for me all the time in case someone is talking about an accident, illness or problem with themselves or others, by the end of each day I am exhausted and so stressed out. I did see a physiologist for five appointments when I was 18 but that did nothing but make me pass out on a couple of occasions. My doctor cant recommend anything, and he has to be careful when talking to me anyway, he can never explain what is wrong with me if I am ill! I am now 36 and with my husband and I thinking about children I am scared stiff about giving birth. Or how I would get that far, the thought of going to an anti-natal class makes my stomach go into over drive. I have had this problem since I was very young, my first memory of first passing out being at the age of 7 when I pulled a tooth out at school.

I have considered hypnotherapy but so unsure if it would work I am scared this would be my last option without a guaranteed result. Please tell me I am not the only person out in the world with this problem or illness whatever it is and there is a way forward for me. After watching the spa of embarrassing illnesses I can relate to so many peoples worries I wondered if the programme could help me, although the thought of talking together in a group about other peoples problems panics me in case I would pass out. As I dont have an illness as such, maybe there isnt anything to help me. Even if you could recommend some ideas for me I would be grateful but I really feel I have tried everything. If it wasnt for my problem I may have thought about taking my life, but I cant even do that, I would pass out before I died!! Please can you help me.

i don't have any one thing that is dominant as an illness in my life, i have lot's of smaller ones but as a whole is getting me down because it effects all that i do.

as a child i had an abses on my appendices after it accrued 3 times they removed them. since then i have had a lot of problems with my stomach swelling, adhesions and all the pain that comes with that.

since i started with my periods they have got worse and worse till they have got to the point, where they are painful and have no regularity.
i can be on from about 3 days to 6 weeks and be off from 1 to 6 weeks. they always very heavy(with blood clots), to the point of when i work behind the bar, having to run off because of the blood running down my leg, having just changed.
the tablets the dr's have given me to help regulate don't seem to work.
i also because of the periods i am anaemic a lot of the time.

my partner and i are trying for a child and i have just recently found out that i am possibly going through early menopause so we have been referred to have IVF, because this seems the only change to be able to consieve.

i have had a lot of problems with my back (2 regenerative discs) and just gone through a cause of injections in my back, which had an adverse effect and caused me to have a lot of problems with my head and nerves.

i had bad skin on my hands which started about 10yeas ago. it started on my right thumb and gradually spread over a the rest of my hands. since having the steroid injection in my back it has cleared up but now i have noticed it is showing signs of recurring.

my stomach, which is consistently blown up to the point where people ask me,
