Anyone got any advise?

hi, i'm only 16, but i have this friend who i get on with really well, i've known him for about 2 years, and i have always had a thing about him. anyway, lately we have been getting quite close, and we have always had the sort of friendship where we flirt in a jokey way. but lately, he's been texting me, and we've had some quite intense conversations. but he keeps talking non stop for about 3 days, and then suddenly stops talking on msn, over text and so on.
also he plays the guitar and whenever i'm there alone he seems to sing love sort of songs and makes sure that i'm always looking at him in the eye.
i don't know whether this is still part of the jokey flirting, or more? i'm too shy to tell him outright how i feel, or to directly ask him, anyone got any suggestions please?!

Sounds like this guy likes you! Are you flirty back with him? If you are then he probably has a good idea about how you feel. Try pluck up the courage and ask him something like "do you ever see us being more than just friends?"
