Burning sensation

Hi all,

I have been with my girlfriend for over 2 yrs and while we have a good sex life, there is one big problem...

after sex, my gf always feels burning inside, and her downstairs is usually bright red. It doesnt matter whether we use a condom or not, still the same outcome. I have been to the dr and gum clinic and they simply palm her off with thrush cream, but I honestly believe there is something more to it.

What worries me most is that she tells me she sometimes feels scared to have sex, knowing the pain she will suffer afterwards. I'm really running out of ideas and have no where to turn. Her doctor is useless (so much so she had a kidney infection diagnosed by the hospital but when she had gone the doctors about it the dr said she's pulled a back muscle!!) and queing in the gum clinic for 2 hours to be given cream is a farce!

Any ideas would be appreciated

I had that constantly where id become red and swollen, the cream they give you such as canesten cream doesnt help in neway on most cases tell her to get a hot bath if it happens it reduces the swelling afterwards.
The medical term for whats happening is called vulvodynia its common case where after sex the area espec the vulva after sex becomes irritable and swollen it usually goes away after a few hours but can cause thrush in most cases.
Try not to use lubricants during sex, vaseline can help if its applied to the vulva before sex just make sure she feels comfortable and is not to dry before having sex.

I know how you feel when i had this problem my boyfriend wouldnt even come near me cos he was so afraid of hurting me with the pain afterwards. Good luck and i hope i helped in some way

have you all been able to figure out the problem maybe you should see several doctors so as you can get second and third opinions.

See a gynecologist

I agree with above, get your g.f to ask her doctor to be refered to see a gynecologist.

I actually saw this problem on a documentary not long ago, the girl suffered with it for years being told exactly what your g.f is...thrush, alergic to condoms etc but she had a medical problem which needed treatment to fix.

There is a name for the problem but i cant remember it.

i took a reaction to all condoms so i foned a chemist and ask wot i could use and the told me a name but i cana mine now as i hav the coil fitted mmmmm fone the chemist saves u going red
but i must tell u some ppl can be lurject 2 sperm my cuz is and my mates sister strange i know

why not have the doctor recommend a gynecologist it could be an allergic reaction to something. or maybe she isn't being lubricated enough during sex.

hav you tried the avanti ultimo condoms (i think thats what their called) their latex free so if after sex if it doesnt hurt she might be allergic to latex.

hi pete youre right in thinking this needs dealing with - get another doctor!! a doctor who listens and follows up to make sure the problem is solved! there are so many possibilities that this could be and so many of them can be nasty and threaten not only her health but her ability to have kids so go with her and support her in seeing a new doc and dont give up...just stay until you get help!! good luck
