Excercise and stretch marks

i have always had THE stretch marks everyone gets ...... you know the ones you get growing from girl to woman on your thighs! which i can cope with i dont mind about them!!!
But since leaving college (now 20) been in an office job for a year now and in that year i have put on almost 2 stone!!! now weighing 68KG at 5'2 inches bmi - 27.8 i have cellulite but hey who dosen't!!

I am so annoyed at the fact i seem to find a new stretch mark every day at the moment and they are all down the backs of my thighs and calfs, does anyone else have this problem?!?!!?!?!

I have been trying to excersise, going to the gym at least twice a week since july / august. Whilst i am starting to tone, i seem to still be getting stretch marks!!!

Does excercise help them fade do you know? obviously as you lose weight, your skin goes back to slimmer i was wondering if the marks will shrink with it? i know they wont go totally but will they at all?

also mine are mainly red, haven't gone silver yet!!

Thanks

Re:excercise and stretch marks"

Hey,

I was just replying to another post regarding stretch marks.
I have the same problem and I always had stretch marks on my upper thighs and you know the usual ones that eveyone gets.Last year I was trying to get rid of my cellulite and hit the gym 4 times a week and YES here they come again.I developed stretch marks on my thighs and some on my arms which I kind of notice them soon enough.the one'son my thighs it was too late already but my arms are still in their early stage.
based on my own experience I dont recomend you do any excercise since yourskin doesnt have enough elasticity.stick to just walking 20 min 3 time a week.no weight training nothing just walk.
meanwhile get enough water dring more veggie juice.stope all wheat product, rice any sort of sweet except for fruits and massage your thighs with cocobutter everyday.try to eat more lean chicken and veggies .
dont think you gonna see any improvment in one week.
I am doing this for about 2 months and I can see some improvments in my skin texture the stretch makrs are not gone completely but I can say the ones on my arms haven't turned white yet which is good and its not noticeable.

"excercise and stretch marks"

Hi there, I would suggest buying some Bio Oil from Boots - its around £8 for a small bottle but if you massage this into your marks twice a day I would say it will definately help. Also, its prob time to get a bit more challenging with your exercise. You will need to go at least 3 or 4 times a week to really see a difference - if you can keep that up, you will def see a difference in 6 weeks! I hope this helps! Also, you will prob notice that if you get a little sun exposure on the stretch marks, they will fade! I am not suggesting to use a sun bed as that's not good advice but on your next summer holiday, get some sunbathing done...

Re "excercise and stretch marks"

Regular exercise that focuses on the area with stretchmarks can really help. You should also regularly massage the area with any natural oil that you can use. Cellulite doesn't disappear overnight, so be patient And don't forget to watch what you eat

Same boat!

I started working in an office back in May after a 2 year break. I've now developed a few stretch marks on the back of my legs too and a few more have appeared on my stomach

I have crashed dieted over the past year and I am putting it down to that.

Have you done any extreme dieting recently?
xx

....

No never extreme dieted, i used to be really active though so sitting around doing nothing is probably the reason, i also have never really looked after my skin either!!

God i hate it lol ..... if i had the money they would be the only thing i would get rid of with surgery!!

Have you tried anything that helps minimise them at all? x
