i have had acne since the 4th grade. i have tried everything. does anyone know of something that REALLY WORKS? im tired of my face looking so bad.

The only thing i have ever found that has really worked for me is the Beautyskin acne lamp. I got one around 3 months ago and haven't looked back. Until then i had tried nearly everything available to me to get rid of my acne but with little or no effect. I was very dubious about trying the beautyskin as it is light therapy and i didn't really see how light could get rid of my troubling acne when all else had failed, but it did and my skin is now the clearest it has ever been. I am so pleased with the effects the beautyskin has had on my skin, i get the occasional breakout but only time of the month etc.

use the paste of Turmeric. Apply turmeric paste as dots on the acne and massage lightly upwards.

It depends where the acne is on your face.. different parts of the face have different solutions (though some solutions are generalised)..
you can always try the medical solutions such as going on the pill (Which evens out your hormones and therefore makes you less prone to break out)
or creams prescribed from the doctor.
skin takes 6 weeks to come to the surface though so it takes a while for any improvements to become noticed. if you are busy trying a treatment you cant just wait 1 week before deciding if it works or not.. it needs a good chance to full work.
also, another way to help bad skin:
-wash your face twice a day (generally NO more!!). washing your face strips the face of oils which the face then replenishes. if you keep washing it your skin will constantly have to replace the oils and you will have to wash it more to get rid of it.. its an endless cycle!!
-after washing your face it is a good idea to use a toner.. it compliments the action of a cleanser (oh, thats another thing.. use a cleanser twice a day and about twice a week use an exfoliator inplace of a cleanser)
-when washing your face you want to try and get your pores to open up as much as possible so you can clean them out.. warm water and steam helps to open them up. so use warm water on your face before you use cleanser. also, AFTER you have cleaned it splash it with as cold water as you have.. warm opens pores so its logical that cold closes them.. this means that less dirt can accumulate if the pores are more closed (note: they dont completely close, just are smaller)..
-umm other advice? change your pillow regularly.. oil builds up on it so changing it removes it.. and a clean pillow smells nice :P
-drinking lots of water always helps..

umm cant think of much else.. i do all of the above and my skin is reacting extremely well.. i have developed no spots (hooray! *touch wood* dont want any either :P)
