Melasma

I have melasma on my forehead, cheeks and upperlip. I've stoped taking the contraceptive pill as advised by my doctor. Im also taking a homeopathic remedy Sepia 6x and have been using Nick lowe facial brightening cream. Havent noticed any improvements yet. Im getting so paranoid about my face, yet there doesnt seem to be definite cure for it when ive been researching on the internet.

Has anyone else had an experience with this?

Melasma

Yes, I've had it, when I was in my 20's, 30's and 40's. It's related to female hormones, and the sun brings it out. Always wear a broad spectrum sunscreen (uva, uvb) when you're outside--even if you're just going out to the driveway to pick up the newspaper., and on cloudy days, as well. Anything with hydroquinone will fade the darkness--but you should get a prescription strength from your doctor. It doesn't fade immediately, but it will fade with hydroquinone.
