Ingredient location vs functionality?

I just watched an webinar on insider cosmeceuticles.com talking about ingredient (arctic berries) location making skin care products more exclusive. Does anyone look at where ingredients are from in the world before chosing a product or do we just care about functionality?

Ingredient location vs functionality

I think it matters where an ingredient comes from in terms of carbon footprints. So many companies use really exotic ingredients from miles way to make them sound very exclusive. However, just think of the carbon footprints in actually bringing these ingredients over. Many exotic ingredients are no more effective than other closer to home ingredients.

I dont think the location matters

I dont think the location matters at all unless different locations have different varieties of the ingredient. We should rather focus on the functionality of the ingredient and how well it caters to your skin.
