Parabens in dermalogica!

Did anyone see that C4 documentary - How Toxic Are You? It highlighted the risks of all the chemicals, such as parabens which are present in many everyday skin creams. I always thought that Dermalogica was recommended by experts but noticed today that even the gentle soothing booster (meant for mega-sensitive skin) contains parabens. I'm really annoyed! This stuff costs a fortune and seems to contain just as many chemicals as any other brand!

Paraben free brands

I swear by REN and Origins. They contain none of the nasties that other brands do and they still have a great line up of great skincare! Give them a try.

Parabens in skin lotions

I agree - a lot of the branded lotions that say they are hypo-allergenic etc often have parabens in - ive started to take notice of labels more nowadays and its incredible the amount of chemicals that are put in lotions that you put on your skin!

I use "heartbeauty" products now - they are quite reasonable and are all hand-made, so I know exactly what goes into them.

Parabens in skin care

For those who are concerned about parabens or other chemical preservatives in skin care I suggest you watch the following short movie:

Hope this helps!

Paraben free creams

I was concerned about parabens last year and set up my own website concentrating on natural alternatives. http://www.simplyessentialuk.co.uk It surprised me how many parabens were in our everyday creams and lotions from the high streets and once you start looking you realise how many chemicals you are using each day in soaps, shampoos, creams, toners the list goes on.....

Im dissappointed

i was thinking of going to dermatologica to get a good skincare regime as i hav e acne scars around my mouth but now i dnt know wot to use or where to go for a skin care regime n acne scars problem solution any ideas !!

Re scars

Hi - try pure Rosehip Oil for help with scarring. It is very gentle and has good results in healing both recent and old scars. Beauty Naturals have an organic rosehip - just visit their website www.beautynaturals.com. Also a good selection of parabnes free, natural skin care with FREE postage.

No!!! i'm so dissapointed!

I love Dermalogica products and am really dissapointed to hear that they have chemicals in them. Aren't they supposed to be products that are made from dermatologists? So it's weird that they would put unhealthy ingredients into the products.
Anyway if this is true, Dermalogica will become just another product that I won't use.

Parabens are not the only evils

Unfortunately parabens are not the only ingredients we need to worry about. There are lots of other preservatives that are also not safe for use (like PEGs, acrylates and a few other stuff that has names you can't spell or pronounce!).

I have been quite concerned about it. In addition, no marketed formulas seem to have been working for me. I decided then to start making my own products - no regrets!

Toxic skincare

That program was really interesing and did expose how the brands lead us to believe that they are natural when in fact they have lots of chemicals that may be harmful. The only way to really know is to check all the ingredients!

It also made me think about what is in the cosmetics I use too, am gonna start changing over to organic and natural ones I think!

A site I use for organic skincare is www.organicessence.co.uk , the products on there do contain any of the ingredients that may be a cause for concern.

Non-toxic skincare

Hi, I'm replying to your message about parabens. It is amazing to see that so many toxic chemicals are present in everyday products, that's the reason I began on my quest to find stuff that really works. I ended up founding a skincare line, you should check it out. I've been working with dermatologists and other skin care pros. over five years to create something safe and effective. Reset Skin Care was born and we're getting great reviews. You should check it out! www.resetskincare.com

Hope this helps,

Parabens in skincare

I watched that bit scary I have to say. I looked up some stuff on the internet after and that really scared me!! Anyway I now use Syence skin care which (they tell me) has been reformulated to exclude all parabens. It is lovely stuff. I bought some of the internet at www.syence.com, and I have now found a salon who does the treatments yeah!
