| Thread started by: | "Scars from spots" Posted by xxjess82xx 2 December at 16:22
During the first few months of me beig pregnant, I got terrible spots and although they have cleared up now, I have a few scars on my forehead and chin from them. Can anyone suggest anything to make them look better etc as I REALLY don't want to resort to a chemical peel (I've heard horror stories about these) and can't seem to find anything to help.

Unfortunatly, usually acne scars are in the dermis which means that they are not easy to get rid of. The best you can do is try to fade them. You don't necessarily need to use a deep chemical peeling. But I would suggest going to a cosmetician and getting some sort of peeling done and maybe she can recommend some kind of cream/oil to help fade the scars.

Dermabrasion, which is sometimes used in conjunction with chemical peels can be useful in the treatment of acne scars. Also more invasive treatments such as ablative laser resurfacing can be helpful sometimes. Also when talking of chemical peels they can range from very mild to more deep peels so they are not all the same.
