Hair breaking

hi all im new to this particular forum so please bare with me.

the problem i have is drivin me mad! i hav been told i have fine hair but lots of it if that makes sense so im by no means going bald but i have breakage only along my parting and hair line near my parting.

i colour my hair on a 6ish week basis and this does not include any bleach.

i blow dry my hair every 3rd day and use heat protect balm, although i do not "style" dry my hair as i am one of the lucky people and a quick blast of hot then cold and 20mins to settle and it looks fine, so i am not over doing it with the drying i dont think but please tell me if im rong.

i only straighten my hair when i go out and recently that means prob only 4/6 time a month(i have GHDs just incase it makes a difference)

i use mainly elvive for coloured hair or tresemme for coloured hair but have been known to use others

i have been through all this with my hairdresser(who happens to be my cousin aswell)and the only conclusion she has come to is that, due to my job (beauty therapist) i have to tie my hair back when doing 99% of treatments and the constant pull on my hair is causing it to break, however i have never been a fan of the scrapped back look so i have always gently and loosely scooped/pinned/tied my hair back, sometimes i will grip my fringe into the "quiff" type thing but thats it. so is this really likely to be the cause?

hope some1 can help

sorry its a long 1 trying to cover all questions

thanks

Hmmm....

I'm a beauthy therapist and hairdresser so hope i can help lol. when u colour your hair do your go lighter or darker? people are under the idea that no bleach = freindly to your hair, its not the way at all! when we colour our hair we must damage the hair regardless! so i'm wondering if it could be the level of peroxide you use when colouring your hair? is it 6%, 9% or 12% if u can reply to that question i may be able to help!

Hey

i cant find the peroxide level on my box! i know its prob me being daft but may it be called anything else? its L'OREAL feria colour 3D P46 ruby power intense deep red. my natural colour is a dark dull brown but i do have alot of red under tones so i tend to stick to red as they shine through regardless of what colour i put on it.id deff say it goes darker than my natural colour tho. i colour my hair every 8ish weeks. any help would be great.im also trying to grow it as i had it cut from about boob length to touchin shoulders(not my choice hairdresser got scissor happy) that was august last year and it only grown about 2 inch since then driving me mad.

hope u can help

Hair breaking.

I was thinking it could be the dying also i know that regardless of using peroxide your hair can still break under the pressure of coloring especially if you use a peroxide. Your hair could also be dry and need some deeep conditioning
