Diy job gone wrong!!

about 7 weeks ago i bleached my hair at home using jerome russell highlighting kit i evenly applied it n left it for 45 minutes. i am naturally dark brown and my hair came out fine in colour but has lost its shine and condition completely. i can leave my hair for nearly a week without washing and its still bone dry and when i brush it i hear and see the ends breaking. i need some advice fast as to what to do as im considering going to a professional and gettin it chopped off to grow it in again, though i feel this is a bit drastic!! any pointers??

thanx

Hello gillian...............

i did hairdressing training a few yrs ago, and the best advice to give you is......a really good conditioning treatment twice a week, but leave it on overnight.......and wrap cling film around your head as this kps it from drying and helps get into the cuticles......this will sort your hair out and the health AND shine should come back in a couple mths if you stick with it.........just dont do it any more than or less. . Also this can help if your kids hair is riddled with nits...my pals daughter had them so i 'treated' her to a girly night with my kids, and left this on overnight, obviously being careful cos dont want it going over there face so n ot to be done on kids under 7, this do during the day.......and hey presto all the live nits wash out.............lol bit of useless info i know but you neer know some1 might need that. Let me know how lovely your hair is in couple mths time

Btw........

By live nits washed out i MEANT they were live but obviously drowned in the conditioner and couldnt breathe cos the cling film....so washed out dead, so long as you comb through and 7days later repeat and comb through again with nit comb you shouldnt have to but nit stuff ..............lol............. ...that was just to clarify x

Thnku...

hey thnx for ur reply, in the end i went to a hairdresser and got a dark brown with golden lights through it dyed in and bought sum aussie colour treated hair miracle stuff that u use once a week so im gona try that, tho sum of the girls in work today commented it looks shinier already, think i just stripped all the natural oil and pigment out of it!! thnx for ur input tho was much appreciated!!
