Change of career to hairdressing

Hi,

I wonder if anyone on here can advise. After 10 years in the same boring job I've decided to completely change my job to becoming (eventually) a hairdresser. Can anyone advise me the best way of going about this. Preferably I need to earn as I learn can I do this in a salon combined with going to college? Can I train for my NVQ1,2 &3 in a salon?

Thanks

Hi

as the scottishlass has said find a salon that will take u on as apprentice/modern apprentice and go for day release at college.u learn so much more hands on in a salon than fulltime at college.at college the clientele is more likely to be the same older generation in for their perms etc.whereas in the salon u have a varied clientele and u can learn a lot from watching senior stylists.good luck and all the best whatever you decide to do.x

yeh if u can find a salon willin to take you on you will be able to study by block release! once u have a place at a salon, go to your nearest college and speak with who ever is the head of the hairdressing department, they will direct you whether you should do block or day release! hope that helps!
