oh and is it true that by the time your older using hair straightners too much causes some hair loss?

yes it causes hair loss. try a CHI IRON with some shine infusion spray. you will find that it will stay all day and it will be poker straight all day. my hair is very wavy/ curly and i was a model today at a hair class and it is still straight as of now!! i have never seen it so straight in my life. it is really poker straight! try the chi iron you'll be glad you did! stop using relaxers on your head. it does nothing but damage the the cuticle and cortex of the hair to where you have nothing left. that causes breakage, and POOF IT IS GONE!! USE SOME PROTEIN RECONSTRUCTORS ON THE HAIR AND SOME MOISURIZERS TO SOFTEN AND STREGTHEN THE HAIR. IT MIGHT TAKE YOU A YEAR BUT IT DIDN'T GET THAT WAY OVER NIGHT. DEAR. GOOD LUCK TO YOU. GOD BLESS.

Yes they will work, I have naturally curly/wavy hair and even when i blow dry it straight it still has a huge wave in it. I bought my GHD`S about 2 months ago & won`t use anything else now!
Plus if you get bored with straightning your hair all the time and want a more 'controlled' curled look the mk4 ghd`s are designed to create perfect flicks and curls. The one`s i bought came with a free dvd and hair serum. Let me know if you would like to know of their website I got mine from!
Don`t be put out off by the smaller size of the GHD`S mk 4 they need to be smaller to create the smaller curls and get up the root of the hair.

i have ghd's, and swear by them. i do have naturally staight hair, but, they work wonders. even when my hair is frizzy, i use them, and have poker straight hair every time!
using heated appliances on your hair, does make your hair brittle. but i don't know about hair loss to any extreme. when older, hair is more tinner, so i wouldn't say its just because of heat damage.
use a good heat protector b4 using the ghd's. also, when straightening, section off small parts of hair to get a better result. don't hold them on a section of hair, just glide them down, and use a comb just below the ghds,on your hair, as you straighten.
