Brown shoulder length hair-new haircut - advice needed

Hi All,

I have had the same brown hair colour for years, very long but recently just chopped them myself a bit when my partner left me...

now planning to go to the hairdressers and get a mid length bob maybe but wondering if one could advise on the colour...

I am tempted to go blonde once in my life but my natural colour is dark brown as well so I am not sure whether any blonde will look good .
also does anyone could recommend a good hair salon in north London?

Build up slow

Hi Agatha,

If your natural colour is dark brown you could try adding some caramel highlights... ask them to weave fine ones but loads of them... That will bring your shade up while still keeping it looking natural... If you want to go lighter I would suggest building up with more highlights over time rather than going for 'block colour' as it can be a bit of a shock and is not so good for your hair.

As for salons try 'Hob' in Camden Lock.. They are a bit pricey but my mate went there and they did wonders for her

If you are planning to going progressively lighter you will need some good moisturising products to use between processes... try the salon exclusives like paul mitchel - www.paulmitchel.com ...Kerastase - www.kerastase.com ... or there is one I used to work with a lot in Sweden which you can now get in the uk - www.snovik.com

Moisture mist leave in conditioners are great for de-tangling highlighted hair whatever brand you choose.
