Trying to grow my hair

Hi girls

I'm new to this forum,so hello! I'm Ellie and I live in Essex.

I have been trying to grow my hair after my hairdresser took too much off at my last appointment. This was back in July and I asked her for a trim, so about half an inch and she took about three inches! She was rushing as she was doing two colours on other girls as well as cutting my hair. I came home devestated and was going on holiday the following week! I wore a sunhat all the time on my hols! Lol! I won't be going back to that salon ever again! A friend suggested I try Sea Kelp to help my hair grow quicker as apparently it speeds up your metabolism. Has anyone tried Sea Kelp or any other vitamin supplements to make their hair grow and did it work? My hair is growing but it was cut into a very short bob, like ear lobe length! I want to grow it back to at least shoulder length. Any help or advice is greatly received!

xx

Hi

Shame Ellie,
I too have had bad experiences at hairdressers (like most I guess),so really felt for you when I read your post!
I have been having hair problems through age and hormones for the last few years ,Ive tried afew things and yes I would definately recommend taking Sea kelp.I sometimes take Solgars hair, skin and nails ,which has MSM,zinc,Vit C ,a good brand is important but can be quite pricey so I suggest eating healthy is best, you can google super foods for hair which includes Spinach, blueberries,Salmon,Wal nuts and many more!
Another great one I have been doing now for awhile is a scalp massge, once sometimes twice aweek, this increases blood cirulation,so that your hair follicles receive more of the nutrients they need for optimal hair growth.I use Organic coconut oil with afew drops of lavender oil or tea tree,if you google scalp massage you'll get pages that will show you have to do it correctly.I usually do mine at night, because its really relaxing,I leave over night and my hair is super conditioned the next day,Im hooked and even my boyfriend is enjoying having his scalp done!lol

In 2007 I had my hair cut short and hated it(needed to be done because I had been living in hot climate,so what with the sun,sea and hormones it was in a bad way )I then had it cut even shorter, felt like a brush at the back it was that short, its now long again!!One thing you do need is patience and you'll get there!Good luck Ellie!!

Sea kelp

Hi Ellie,

When I was trying to grow my hair I also took Sea Kelp and I honestly believe my hair grew faster - you need to take them for a good few months though as naturally your hair only grows 1/2 cm per month.

Products with rosemary

Hi Ellie!

There are some products out their that can help... Scientifically speaking, the way to maximise your potential hair growth is to nourish your scalp as much as possible and help to increase blood flow to the roots of your hair, to carry all the good nutrients it needs to grow... So diet is also a big factor, lots of protein and non-saturated fats like fish oils will help a lot.

As for haircare products that work by stimulating hair growth and creating a healthy environment for your hair to thrive - you can try Snovik's cool head conditioner as a treatment mask - It contains Rosmary & Birch Leaf extracts, which are well known hair growth stimulators... you can literally 'feel' the stimulating effects... www.snovik.com ... I know at least two friends who have been in a similar position to you and recommended it

Hope that helps.. let us know how you get on
