Spots i got them too!

i'm surfing to try and sort out my scalp spot problem too. all was fine while on the pill.after having first child red spots appeared, they are sore and show thru my hair mostly around hairline.now its happened again ater second child. my hair is greasy (which never was ) and little beads of sebum seem to travel down each hair.yuk.i HAVE to wash it daily and tried all dandruff shamps but its not a flakey scalp which dandruff shamps say they treat! i read stress can cause the spots or could it be hormonal? maybe i should go back on the combined pill again (after breastfeeding?)someone help me!!!! i feel dirty and greasy all the time and it makes me paranoid.

Answer to help

i am 18 and i have it. it is an allergic reaction to your hair you need to have your headshaved or it cause bad illness i didnt shave my head and i kept being sick so i went to hospital. after that i shaved my head and the doctor said as long as i have a shaved head i will not have an allergic reaction to my hair and will never get those red spots back. you have to shave your head bald. i hope u feel better and a shaved head is also a good sexy hairstyle so u will be lucky. good luck remember shave your head.

Head shaved! what dangerous advice

You must be crazy. I hope no-one takes any notice of your utterly ridiculous and dangerous advice. You're obviously a lunatic and the help you need is 'in' your head and not 'on' your head. If you can't give a sensible comment to someone who is obviously distressed then keep your opinions to yourself.

Answer

you maybe having a allergic reaction to something. it could be your shampoo or your medications or some type of styling product that you are using that comes incontact with your scalp! try that. i bet if you stop using what ever you are using it will go away. if it does not i would see your dermatoligist right away!

I suffer too!

Hey, i have never said it out loud as i find it a bit embarassing! so, here i am looking for answers on the net. A n allergy has been ruled out already as i have had this for over 2 years now, antibiorics havent done much and although i change my shampoo regularly (to whichever is on offer as otherwise i have a naturally healthy and glossy hair) i have settled on tresseme for a while. I have spoken to a lady on a natural shop today and she has suggested crushing a couple of aspirins and adding them to my conditioner; she says that as its antiseptic it may help. i have rather greasy hair and if not washed every other day it goes horrible, limp and greasy-shiny, so my guess is that it happens due to excessive sebhorreic(sic) discharge.. Will be trying it out tomorrow and will let you know what happens, good luck!

Ph balanced products will help

Hi
I have been reading a few of the problems above, and I work as a hair consultant. Sooo many products are really alkaline (like soap) and stimulate sebum production. I strongly recommend trying Redken Oil Detox Shampoo and Scalp treatment. In the same way that if you were to wash your face with soap, it feels tight and dry at first, your skin then reacts trying to put the oils back and get the Ph back to normal then a few hours later your face will be really shiny/oily. THe same is happening with your scalp. Redken is Ph balanced, it may be a bit more expensive but you use half the amount and after around a month you wint need to wash you hair as often.

Sorry to say that the lady with the scalp spots, wont find it as easy... Redken with sooth and rebalance the scalp and slow down sebum prduction but it is generally stress/hormones that cause your problem.

Hope this helps

If that doesnt work....

If the comment above about Ph balance doesnt work you could also go to your slaon and ask if High Frequency will help, as in the slaon where i am that is quite a common problem sorted by high frequency.
