I want long hair!

i have been growing out my hair for what feels like years and it seems to have stagnated at a medium/long length. i want it to grow 5-7 more inches. i make sure to trim split end, wash only every 3 days, and use conditioning masks but still it stays this length. any advice for getting it to the next level?

Hi yogajen..............

i did hairdressing training, and some people can justnot grow there hair past a certain length..mine for example wont grow past my base of my shoulders........its just an individual thing and nothing you eat can change that........IF it only feels like years and hasnt been longer than a yr, i would suggest scalp massage, you can just circle your fingers on the scalp slowly and firmly and continue all over your head, this stimulates the follicles and blood supply and can help to stimulate hair growth, good luck and eating veg and fruit can help the condition of your hair keep us posted x

To i want long hair...

Heyy im the same position. well kinda.
i have mega long hair but me being STOOPID decided to get really thick layers in as short as my ears ( i was gutted after i had it cut) i now need to grow them out! .. now i havent been to a hairdressor for 6 months coz im too scared for them to cut it. I WILL GO SOON THOUGH.

anyway here are a few of my tips ive researched....

1) eat more protein!! ... hair is made up of protein.. therefore if you eat more it makes it grow faster, thicker and healthier. a great source of this is fish, eggs, lean meats etcccc. ( fish espesh has omega 3 fatty oils which are essential).

2) hair supplments.. now dont spend a fortune on these . because half of these are cons and do not actually work. look out for vitamin supplments with iron and B vitamins espesh, Biotin ( these have been proven to help hair grow healthier. ( search foods with B vitamins and iron in them aswell like brocoli ).

3) dont wash your hair every day every other day .. try to leave as long as possible. ( i use dry shampoo and talcan powder when my hair fels slightly greasy. <be warned though.. talcan powder can only be used on blonde hair. otherwise you will end up looking like you have grey roots.)

4) do not bleach your hair ( like i ahve done for several years ( yes i went through the phase of platnuim blonde/ white hair) and now im payin for it.
Get a trim every 1-3 months. And i mean a trim dont let a hairdressor go overboard ( i swear they cannot measure!). getting a trim prevents spilt ends which could damage the shaft and the rest of the hair.
Look after your hair. tie it up loose as often as poss ( bun or plait is best to prevent breakage and wear and tear of hair). dont brush when wet also. this is when your hair is at its most vunerable.

and 5) ( coz im getting tired and cba writing anymore... ) HAVE PATIENCE!! .. there is no miracle pill or anything. it takes time but if you look after your hair and do the tips above. it should grow quiker and healthier.!!

i hope i helped x
