| Thread started by: | "Ghd hair straightners - cant get my hair straight!" Posted by usa31 17 January at 13:36
Hi,
I have recently bought the new GHD Hair Straightners that you can use abroad and have the time control on them if you forget to turn them off. I have tried to use them a few times but my hair never comes out dead straight it still looks fluffy. I have been to the hairdressers several times and they can get my hair poker straight and it looks lovely but I cant seem to do it. I use Leave in Conditioner and a heat protectant spray but it doesnt work..... can anyone advise?
Thanks

Hey there.
What i tend to do with my GHD's is start from underneath the hair. Try not to put any leave in conditioners becasue it will make your hair greasy and kink. I ose shampoo, bit of conditioner then wash it off.
Buy yourself a bull clip and start by clipping all your hair up apart from a thin strip at the back. Use a comb and straighten your hair running the comb through at the same same time. Do this each time you pull a bit of hair down. Do that back as much as you can untill you get to the top the start on your sides and front. It should be a lot straighter if you do it this way and practise makes perfect. Ive been doing my hair this way for years and never ket kinks.
Good luck xx

Hi, another GHD user, hurrah.
My advice is to go to your hairdresser and ask for them to do your hair and talk you through it, while they do it.
I found that I needed to start from the underneath first so you might need some hair clips.
Only trouble is I look like I've been electrocuted when I wake up in the morning...so I use them every day..and that isn't good for your hair. I am learning to be really fast with them and to use a comb to take small sections at a time. I do find my hair smells a bit scorched..No one has replied about that..perhaps I'd better get some fake boobs. H

Ah but if you have a boob job then it will be a few weeks until you can straighten your own hair.............trust me I had mine done on the 17th dec and my OH had to do my hair for me!
