Bikini waxing

Please can someone help me. I have had my bikini waxed a couple of time by a great beautician who is no longer working,(she's gone back to teaching) i found another one in yellow pages that came to my house, and god she was awful, I came up in big bruises after and she missed loads of hair and hurt me. So i decided to try and do it my myself with Veet ready to use, it was less painful but am bruising really easily. Can any body tell me what im doing wrong

Ouch!

i had the same thing happen to me. at the same salon, one girl was amazing and the next time she wasn't available (shed left the salon) and i got a girl who's procedure was painful, she left bruising, and ripped so much skin off i had deep scabs and then scars and then charged me twice as much as the previous aesthetician. i tried to do it on my own but it was too awkward for me to manage. what i'd suggest is just trying out different salons. maybe not for bikini waxing as it is pretty expensive and painful to try going around to different places, but maybe getting your eyebrows done by 3 or 4 different people. who says you can't shop around?

Waxing

I do it from home myself and have got better with experience. I buy the stuff beauty salons use in tubs from a local Trade shop open to the public called Sallys in London. I'm pretty sure they're online too, just check out on google. It's so easy to stick the pot in the microwave for 7 minutes, depending on your microwave strength. Then I have found the secret is to not have the hair too long or too short. Quarter of an inchish. But then to do it in SMALL sections. That is what I have found makes all the difference, as I too used to bruise in that area badly. Good luck. PS Sallys sell all you need in the way of the strips, and wooden spatulas, after oils to remove excess wax.

Hmm

sometimes if you are due on your period soon the area is alot more sensitive and alot more likely to bruise, its best done afterwards about 4 days

Hair length

Are you making sure that your hair's long enough before you try to take it off? (about 5mm is recommended), and try not to go over the same bit of skin more than a couple of times. If you've got any stubborn hairs left over it's best to take them out with tweezers rather than continuing to wax the area.
