Losing the will - at this dieting lark

At my age you 'd think I had it sussed, but after losing nearly five stone four years ago, and having a subsequent tummy tuck, I should be unflatering in the world of dieting and KEEPING IT OFF, but lately its become an uphill challange.

My days are full of self obsession with my weight, I really don't know what I look like anymore, and although I have gained about 6llbs since originally losing the bulk of my weight, I have become obsessed with food, my size, and all things related-it is making me so unhappy and depressed.

Anyone anything helpful to add, body hair is way down my long list of worries!

Don't sweat the pounds

Hi

Know exactly where you are coming from - I lost 6.5 stone 4-5 years ago and since then have gone up and down by a stone. I think you have to set limits within which your weight is allowed to vary as this will fluctaute naturally anyway and not angst too much about that variation. If you then get near your upper limit do something about it - get more exercise, don't have treats during the week etc. This can then be considered getting healthy and have a short term focus as opposed to constantly being on a diet - which can get very old hat very quickly. If you focus on your weight too much then everything gets distoted out of proportion,

Think of the positives - you are 5 stone lighter than you were 4 years ago, you have a flat stomach?!? Just imagine if you were where you were 4 years ago (how depressed you would be) and where you are now - life is good!
