Ipl v laser

I have recently attended (with a friend for moral support!!) clinic in London that offer a really IPL Treatment. I wasnt aware of the difference between IPL and laser at first, but my friend is Asian and when we had our private consultations she was told that IPL actually treats more skin types than laser. (and I can vouch that it is actually less painful too!)

The website for the company is www.depicool.co.uk and youll find a really useful visual guide to determine your skin type and therefore where and if you could undergo treatment.
When you have your first patch testits free - so you could ask about side effects then, but myself personally I have only experienced a bit of redness for a few hours after treatment.

Hope that helps!

Great clinic in n london

Hi

My sisters and I all go and see nurse Sonal at Viva in Golders Green, on the Finchley Road. I found her in a magazine article which was about her asian clients. Have alse read about her on the Asiana forum. Great results.

Laser hair removal kits at home for asians

Hi Cvit,

Did you manage to try a laser hair kit at home. They all say that they are not suitable for dark skin. I really want to try one but am not sure if my skin colour is suitable. I am Indian medium skin tone. Would like to know if any asian as tried a home kit and has worked.

Would be grateful if you could let me know. The silkn looks quite good but dont know if it will accept my skin.

Laser home kits

Hi, i am considering buying the Boots Smooth Skin one as i was told by a Boots Staff member that a lot of Asians with my skin tone (medium) have purchased it & she hasn't had any returns or negative feedback. Its a big decision as it costs £250. The Boots one goes up to 3 on the Fitzpatrick scale but the Remington one goes up to 4 so can be used on darker skin than the Boots one. At nearly £300 the Remington one is expensive too but the bulbs have less flashes. I will keep you posted if i buy either!
