Shaving in preparation for laser treatment

Hi,

After years of waxing - and having to live with re-growth (I figured I'd rather have soft hair even though they're dark than thick, dark stubble that would feel really rough) - I've finally bit the bullet and booked in for laser treatment in a couple of weeks time.

I shaved my legs for the first time in years this morning - already feeling stubbly, yuck! I want to find out what happens after and between treatments. Do I keep shaving? If I do that won ... make the new finer hair thicker again?

I'm feeling bizarrely anxious about it... Think I'm worried that it won't have a great affect and I'll have lost all the gains I've made my persisting with waxing. Maybe I just need reassurance!!!

Re: laser treatment

You can check out this link for tips on before, during and after laser treatment : http://www.hair-remover.org/laser-hair-removal.html

Hope it helps.

Thanks for advice!

Thanks Melandra,

You're making me feel so much better - we have matching legs, at least pre-laser!!! I'm only surprised my boyf has put up with my hairy legs and growing them between waxes all these years!!!

So it's ok to shave between treatments it won't spoil the effect of lasering?

Will remember not to moisturise!!!

No problem

I had really thick hairy legs and hundreds of ingrowning hairs. I never shaved them for fear of having cactus legs!! After years of waxing I fell upon an advert for laser treatment with 50% discount so I made an appointment to ask if they help me as I honestly thought my legs were untreatable!! After the consultation they were confident they could and after 10 treatments I am hair free and hardly any ingrowing hairs. In between treatments, shave the hairs they will start to get finer each time and shave 2 days before you're due for treatment. If I could give you any adice I would advise you not to moisturise your legs before treatment, they will fry. But believe me you will be happy with the results as I am. So nice to wear skirts with bear legs!! Good luck x
