"High cohesive pip implants do rupture check this is not what they are putting in you!!!"

Hi everyone
Just thought I would put a warning on here as I want to stop any more people having the heart ache that I have had in the last year. Ill keep it short as I can and feel free to ask any questions, I will be happy to respond. I had PIP high cohesive implants made by a french manufacturer called Clover leaf 3 and a half years ago, I found a lump in my breast which freaked me out cos I thought that the high cohesive could not leak gel into the body. I had an ultrasound followed by an MRI scan which showed that I had intracapsular on my right breast and extracapsular on my left. As you know they are sold in single blisters and mine had 2 different lot numbers one was a 365cc the other a 345cc. When removed last week the right implant was actually in pieces the left was just sticky messy and ruptured which also went into my lymph nodes! They had gone off yellow and the surgeons that removed them said that they had never seen them like this in just 3 and a half years and that they use FDA approved only and that if they do see a rupture its usually about 20 or 30 years down the line. These are only 3 and a half years old and are the high cohesive.....how may women are just discovering and going through right now what I have just been through?? If you have a BA booked make sure you get different implants fitted cos these ones are clearly crap!!!
It is not difficult for your surgeon to order FDA approved ones and so what if they a little more expensive if they last properly?!
I know this will put alot of you who are booked for surgery in a panick but seriously if your surgeon says they are fine dont listen I'm a real case with proof that this has happened and seeings both of mine have gone that are from different lot numbers this shows that they are a heap of rubbish.
All the best of luck to all of you and much love Donna xxxxx

Hello, i had my operation with Dr Singh 7 weeks ago and my implants where PIP , i actually stopped coming on here because of all the horror storys!!
As with all surgery there comes a risk its just how the cookie crumbles-sorry to be blunt but its true!
I developed a wound infection 3 weeks post op due to a stitch that hadnt dissolved properly, but this wasnt my surgeons or implant manufacurers fault???
the point im trying to stress is that complications that can arise happen no matter which brand of implants you have fitted, the next thing we will be hearing is that PIP implants cause capsulars ect ect... come on girls do u really think some of the finest surgeons in the world would risk their reputation and use these implants if they were deemed unsafe?? i think we all know the answer to this one.......?
As my nurse rightly said out of all the happy ending storys , to be told we always hear the bad ones, millions of breast augmentatons are performed in the world each year and the majority of patients have little or no complications
everyhing we do in life carries a risk-smoking, drinking, sunbeds walking across the road lol.....the list is endless.
On a happier note i got measured last week and was fitted with a 32H bra which i am more than happy with : )
they are really soft and jiggly aswell and im in love with them they are my new best friends, i get looks wherever i go they get so much attention lol
and for all the right reasons
so listen girls if you have or planning to have these implants dont worry, dont make ur head ache , i know myself this is a stressful time enough without worrying about something which may prob never happen to you!!! your surgeon is much more qualified to advise you on what hes putting into ur body than anyone on here-sorry if this is a little hard hitting but had to stress this point!!
good luck and much love to all u girls with your forthcomin ops xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx x
p.s anyone having Singhy baby- he is a god and i love him to bits he did a great job for me , cant praise him enough!

i had ALlergan CUI's from MYA and have done a little research into the kind of implants i have been given. I was told they had a lifetime gaurentee and if they ruptured the silicone would stay intact. Checking Allergans website it confirms this

taken from : http://allerganbeauty.co.uk/breast_implants/types_implants.aspx?sessionid= 681457a7-a6cf-469a-8b2e-66738f d28783

"For example, if a style 410 range implant is cut open into two halves, both halves maintain their shape and the silicone gel doesnt run or spill out. So, ALLERGAN Breast Implants offer the look and natural feel of silicone and the lasting safety of cohesive gel......ALLERGANs patented INTRASHIEL Barrier Technology is designed to minimise silicone gel diffusion and prevent the leakage that can occur with standard implants"

So Allergan ladies - try not to worry

Reverting back to my earlier post, i was getting myself so worked up about this implant ,as everthing to do with THG at the mo is a negative, so i was quick to judge.
I am worried don't get me wrong, i have just had them fitted 6 weeks ago, and i have to say your original post scared me even more as my operation has been a disaster from the start as well as the aftercare. I'm going of track a bit here so don't mind me. America uses the FDA mark where as we have a different safety mark, forgotten what it is now CE?. Basically, you hear hundreds of different complaints on here all the time and the percentage of those people complaining of ruptures on pips are low considering there are hundreds of BA's that are happy and don't comment. When i spoke to cloverleaf earlier, Matt ? said that contributing factors like capsular contraction can cause this but at the end of the day the risk is so low and thats a risk we take when we read about BAs and implant, there is no 100% guarantee. I'm sure if you type into google about bad things of different implants you find it coz your looking. I should know, i didn't do a negative search on my surgeon and now regret it. Also they would be governed to sell them. x x

what is high cohesive? never even heard this phrase before. I have heard of high profile, or cohesive silicone but not this term "HIGH COHESIVE"??
"I've"
Posted by roxietee 8 October  at  10:47

never heard of this High Cohesive before either.
Can any explain what it means?
"High cohesive is..."
Posted by xxamberxx 8 October  at  12:22

hiya, i had my 1st ba 12yrs ago, then they didnt have high cohesive... they had liquid silicone! meaning silicone in liquid runny form... when implant ruptures, the silicone leaks into the body!

surgeons do not use liquid silicone anymore... that is in the past! in recent years, liquid silicone has been replaced by high cohesive! and they call these high cohesive gel cos they resemble GEL, there are diff strength of gel...

mine is extra strong cos i wanted a firm fake look and feel. but inspira does soft touch too, more natural.
in usa they do gummy bears extra strong gel. with all of these gels they are not suppose to run or leak into body if implant ruptures, however this is not always true, has been know to leak into lymth node on armpits!

this is used to describe the strength, the rigidity of the silicone. if implant ruptures the silicone does not run into the body freely like the old ones... they are form stable, search or google it will explain better. however, the new silicone can stil leak to a certain point ie into lympth nodes...?

the bad press is also about pip high cohesive, like i say the poster here had hers ruptured and my friends too.
i think the arguement here is that some brands are better and safer than others... the fda are VERY strict and in usa anything not fda approved you should avoid. yes pip mayb approved by ce.

sorry to use this as example. but i was shopping for hoover yesterday... and i could choose a 'wilkinson' brand that was more powerful and did more or a VAX that did less... which would you choose for few pounds more? and that is not even our body we'r shopping for.! obviously i went for quality.

i prob feel strongly for this as i know what its like to have rupture so please dont disregard, if you hav the choice then why have the cheapest!

dont mean to scare anyone, just remember if you hav booked for ba, you can ask for diff brand ie mentor or inspira mcghan

you don't get a choice of the implant manufacturer and have to go with what the clinic you're going to uses
"."
Posted by shenay86 8 October  at  12:39

Then go to another clinic or company that uses better quality implants
"I"
Posted by roxietee 8 October  at  12:46

won't know what implants they use until i get there

What clinic are you going to?

Wellness Kliniek
"I agree with donna..."
Posted by xxamberxx 7 October  at  22:22

i also had rupture but with the old liquid silicone, i had a reop for bigger implants few months ago and my surgeon told me the distortion i thought i had was actualy silicone, the silicone bag was almost empty! i was in a mess! i been walking around the last 12yrs with silicone leaking into my body, i had extreme tiredness all that time, which i now blame on the silicone.

ok i know implants are now vastly improved, surgeons now use high cohesive... but like donna, my friends implant ruptured soon after her ba too! she had high cohesive

you want to avoid this if you can. i think some girls are confused or trying to convince themselves that pip high cohesives are ok... that the bad press is only about saline or old implants. but no, we are talking about PIP or other cheap brand of HIGH COHESIVE

in the uk surgeons rarely use saline and no surgeons use the old liquid silicone, donna is prove that pip high cohesive should be avoided

if you drive a bentley, would you buy cheap tyres? so why put the cheapest implants in your body, you saved up hard for your ba so why risk ruptures and complications

there chance of any brand implant to rupture, some better quality than others, however pip are the cheapest and not reliable.

i paid dr badiali clinic only £100 more for the best inspira responsive/soft touch and they feel like my own breasts, i cant feel the implant at all and they 600cc! but with my old ones i could feel them

Thats good to hear about the soft touch being natural feeling as im getting them! I agree about getting the best quality as i only want the best for my body! xxxxxxxx
"Hi nadiya"
Posted by xxamberxx 8 October  at  14:05

honestly, i was amazed! i cannot feel a thing!
inspira are THE best in the world. they have 'high responsive' which are the ones i have, these are the firmer of the two... they also hav the soft touch which you are getting,,, so imagine how soft they will feel. im happy your choosing these ones are it is better to go with peace of mind.

thing is with rupture, you can walk around for 12yrs like i did and not even realise your implants have burst... i only found out after my recent op for larger implants

and i thought my breasts have shrunk with age when infact i had no silicone in my implant bags sometimes it happens slowly you dont realise

x
"Thats great hun"

I've just spoken to Matt that work for cloverleaf distributions. He explained that with all implants there is a risk and that the standard cohesive gel implants are regulated with the same safety mark as the others. FDA approved only applies in the Usa. I am reassured and while researching the bad about these implants, you will still find a percentage of bad with all other implants to. I have been told they cannot sell such products if they are not regulated for safety measures. This suits me x
"Hi donna."
Posted by beners 7 October  at  14:15

Im so sorry, you must be so upset. I hope all is ok with you now? I think its great you writing your Story, if it saves just 1 person from having these implants put in them, Then thats got to be a good thing.

Anna xx
